Unless you are very lucky and get to park at the dock area, you need to park in garage across street. Only cost me $4 for the whole time I was gone and I actually got there more than an hour early. Even with pre purchased tickets, you need to pick up boarding pass at the small building behind the larger front building. You can wait for ferry under a canopy next to the gangplank. I was very surprised at how many people either arrived 5 minutes before departure or even in some cases at departure time. The boat did wait for them. My main goal was picture taking so I sat outside but take note, it is next to impossible to hear the announcer when sitting out there. No idea which lighthouse I was looking at, at any time. On the way back the captain really sped up so it got extremely windy outside so I moved inside. Even then I could barely hear any of the announcing. A flyer with each lighthouse in order of appearance would have been very helpful. Boat was clean and...
Read moreThis was a great cruise that covered a lot of locations. It’s got some serious horsepower. When not tearing across Long Island sound (very very smoothly I must say) the captain stopped at the places of interest to give people a good chance to look things over and take pictures, turning the boat around slowly so that people sitting on both sides can get a view. The trip was well narrated. The food counter had a good array of food and beverages at a reasonable price. If you are looking for things to do while in New London or its surroundings this lighthouse cruise is a...
Read moreThis was the first boat that my boyfriend has been able to get on since his accident 20 years ago. Not many boats accessible. What a milestone for us. They were very accommodating and we went on the Lighthouse tour to Rhode Island. Their is a guide speaking over the loud speaker and he lets you know about each stop. The boat turns around so all sides can see. Normally don't get sea sick, but that was making me sick, but beautiful sites. Very pleasant staff and you can get snacks and drinks. My dad started with a bloody Mary and my boyfriend with an IPA. That started a great ride. Many photos can be taken and you even get so see Taylor...
