Great place to camp, with relatively private spots surrounded by trees. Plenty of hiking trails, as well as a secluded pond beach about a 2 mile hike from camp. Would reccommend everyone staying at big deer to hike the cold water brook trail, and the deer mt. Summit trail, great views and the hike is only of moderate difficulty. Bathrooms are satisfactory. The showers do take a minute to heat up and lack pressure, but its the middle of the woods, and at 50 cents for every 4 minutes, I can't complain. Prepare to lose all cellular and internet connection within 30 minutes of camp. It's best to have a map on hand, or something like google maps which will still show your location even offline. A bit of a drive away from anything though, so prepare for that.

A little quieter and more remote than the nearby Stillwater State Park. Very clean bathrooms.I would highly recommend this campground. However, site 19 is not ideal unless you require close proximity to the bathroom.

Great little campground with the only exception that it's a little ways away from the water, but if your just looking to get away into the Vermont woods and relax in nature then it's perfect for you. Coin operated hot showers, dumpsters for your trash, recycling and well maintained sites are a few of the perks. Potable water is also on site so bring one or two gallons and fill up as needed! Each site has at minimum a fire ring and many have a built brick and/or stone fireplace which just shows you how well the campground is cared for. One thing to note is that the footprint of some tents is too big for the inside of some of the lean tos but we just let ours hang over a bit and it was fine. Firewood is available at check in and there is a country store with many of the necessities down the road a...

Great park in Groton. Plenty to do nearby within the network of parks in the area. Solid hikes and legit beach at Boulder Beach State Park. The new, nearby nature center is great, super clean, with interesting exhibits to keep science/nature minded kiddos busy. You have to check in at Stillwater park and can't buy wood or ice onsite (also at Stillwater). Note, don't plan on having cell service (welcome to VT). No one in our party did, across three major carriers (Verizon,...
