Mystic Boat Adventures, LLC — Attraction in Groton

I went to here on 8/14/24. I arrived at 11:00am. Upon arrival the tour guy wasn't there. Around 11:30 he returned from a tour with 1 couple. He told me to be on the dock at 12:20pm for my 1:00 pm tour. I and my friend were the first people on the dock at 12:10 pm. Some other couples arrived after us. We were standing in front of the boat we wanted to get on which was D-14. The tour guy asked all couples to fill out their form then go on their boat. We finished our form and proceeded to hand it to him. He said put it down. I put it down and proceeded to get on the boat...the tour guy literally came over and told me to go get on another boat because he gave this boat to the other couples that had come after us. I was really upset because the boat he gave us had an old motor and the boat was very slow and kept stalling. He kept blaming it on grass in the motor. We were left behind several times while everyone else was all together. I feel that if we were there first why did he say we couldn't get in the boat we had chosen. We paid our money just like they did and I feel this wasn't right. I reached out to the company to let them know what happened but have yet to get a response. The tour guy( I'm calling him that because he never said his name)was smoking cigarettes while we were on the water. I feel we made it fun for ourselves but not with the help of the tour guy. I can't say on this day that I can give him a good rating.... maybe he will be better to other people. I felt a little uncomfortable after he literally did that. He kept telling me to calm down cause I told him this boat was raggedy!!! 8/17/24. Today I spoke to Rob...(the tour guy)who said he is also the owner. He said he read my review. I said well then you know my complaint. He said he gave the boat to the other couples because he wanted them to have the newer boats. So there you have it he put us in the old boat! This is what I already knew. I just wanted to hear him say it. He also said it's his establishment and he can do whatever he wants. If I go to a carnival and I'm first in line, I don't care how many times a person has rode I get to pick my seat! Rob said these people came with their family and he wanted them to have the newer boats.... that's definitely not good businesses management. Every paying customer should be treated equally....no matter how many times they come! My point...

The Mystic Boat Adventures is an amazing boat ride attraction and an absolute “must do excursion” when visiting Mystic, Connecticut.

When I celebrated my wife’s birthday in Mystic, Connecticut in September of 2024, I brought and treated her and myself for a guided Mystic Boat Adventure tour. We both found the experience to be quite exhilarating!!!

The Mystic Boat Adventure offers a distinct and one of a kind boat tour experience because it provides riders the chance to 1).captain their own Craigcat boat, 2).rapidly sail their along the Mystic River, and 3).enjoy scenic views of the landscape and other local rivers.

Our tour guide, Rob was absolutely brilliant and perfect!!! He was very kind and welcoming, and made us feel right at home. He did a superb job on explaining the best ways to operate a Craigboat, provided tips on how we should conduct our left, right and 360 degrees turns, and detailed the do’s and don’t’s when approaching waves.

During the tour, Rob also showcased his knowledge and intimate understanding of Mystic, Connecticut, by pointing out numerous popular sights, attractions and local rivers. Both my wife and I would agree that when you tour with Rob in Mystic, you are touring with the absolute best!!!

In addition to Rob’s great service, what my wife and I loved most about our boat tour was the unbelievable agility of the Craigboat, and its speed level!!! We traveled at 30 miles an hour, and we enjoyed the thrill of sailing along the river, making 360 degree turns, feeling the cool breeze of the air, and getting doused with water brought by the waves. We also enjoyed wonderful views of lighthouses, sailing ships, luxury yachts, and numerous ocean bays and rivers.
