Smugglers Cave — Attraction in Grover Beach

Fairly easy trail for those who have no mobility challenges. It can be slippery and is uneven and narrow along the trail. It looked to be very challenging for the elderly that we passed, and I suspect it would be scary for those who have balance issues. The cave is not worth the risk. But if you just want to get your heart rate up and a little workout in, then this trail could be for you. The cave "art" is lame and very disheartening. Overall, in my opinion, the hike is basically a MIIT at most for the more active older adult or too much for the unfit. If you choose to hike further down to the beach, you'll find nude sun bathers peering more at you than you at them. I've never felt so...

This cave is a gem and easily accessible, maybe too accessible that finding a parking spot is a challenge. We just got lucky when we went when a kind lady waved at us to let us know that there was a parking spot right at the trailhead, how cool is that?!? The view is absolutely breathtaking!!! 0/10 do not recommend. Tons of tweakers and unsavory characters all over the place. Stopped and talked to a local sheriffs deputy who told us this area is the local nude beach and transient hang out.
