Playa Caña Gorda — Attraction in Guánica

Nice sandy beach. There was a decent number of bathrooms, changing rooms and benches scattered along this large compound. They initially asked us to pay $3, to get in. He then changed it to $4, when we asked if it was a public beach, he told us to go in free. There may have been some miscommunication because he didn't speak English. No tp in bathrooms. I've been visiting this beach for decades. Although it have changed a lot, it's still a nice beach, specially good for families and kids. The area is fenced and it's relatively safe. Facilities includes bathrooms, showers to get sea salt off, a convenient store, a basketball court and more. Be ready with some cash to pay for the parking fee. There's no atm or bank nearby....

Sorry to say but this beach is filthy. From the water having a strong smell of rotten eggs. The people swimming were complaining of itching. It was super scary to go there. The restrooms are filthy and need cleaning with no toilet tissue. The sand is filthy with trash around and it is a real embarrassment to have to see a beach in this condition.I did not...
