Pros - Fresh water wash down, bathrooms, ample room for regular size truck and trailers, large wide ramps. this is 5 stars for most
Cons for me I have 66ft boat and trailer combo. Spaces not long enough to park. I parked in an empty lot in the back and still got a ticket for improper parking, should call out somewhere online that its not for larger boats
Boat ramps allow parking directly in front of them. I've never seen this before, usually there is ample space to pull up, get trailer straight, and back in. I'm a strong average in my trailering skills, but again with 66ft of truck and boat, I wasn't able to get the trailer lined up with the space provided, I was forced to jack knife the trailer in there which left my truck angled to pull out. again, with a more compact set up this is a perfect place
If it was a crowded weekend, I would have needed to find a different ramp to launch and park. 1 star because of my ticket, they should have a few spaces to accommodate larger trailers
Edit. They do have an overflow parking for larger trailers. Still a one star for allowing parking directly in...
Read moreNice ramp and facilities. Bathrooms are in the back row. It's open 24 hours and security drives by often. It's $6 for parking with a trailer and $5 for vehicles without trailers, cards only and the parking meters are a bit slow authorizing cards. Single car parking in the back by the bathrooms but you must pay for parking as well. Know your vehicle license plate when you go to pay. The parking meters are on the front row closest to the docks. some in the middle and some on each end. The ramps are very easy to back a boat down. Sometimes tide and wind or other boats driving by can make it a bit difficult to dock and load. Birds sometimes really stink up some of the docks too. Always use numbers with your boat here. Otherwise a boat wake or something will cause some major scratches to your boat.
Ramps can get slick at times like all ramps and the sea weed is really slick so kick it out of the way if there is a line of it at the ramp to prevent your tires from spinning.
This place gets really busy on holidays like anywhere else if there is good weather. Get here before 9am to ensure you...
Read moreThe Best Dog friendly Beach! All dogs must be leashed until you reach one of the designated areas. Everyone seems to respect that rule. Once you're situated on the "Paws Beach" you can let them off leash to frolic & fetch in the water! There are also 2 fenced in areas right by the parking lot where you can let them off leash. These are great for medium & small size dogs. But if you have a larger breed or one that loves to run, the fenced areas are a bit confined.
The Doggie beach is very popular so the "Bay Pier" parking lot fills up fast & so does the beach, which is just a 3-5 min. walk from the lot. The majority of dogs at the beach are medium to large sized breeds. Many of them tend to run & frolic as a "playful pack". I wouldn't suggest letting small breeds off leash as they could easily get trampled by the bigger ones that are "playing & chasing" each other.
It's definitely Doggie Heaven for dogs that love the water or ones that...
