Bishop Lake is entirely within this beautiful state park that is a haven for hikers, mountain biking, camping, picnics and a small beach with a fun inflatable island kids swim to in the summer. Every Good Friday local Catholics literally carry their crosses through the beautiful woods to pray the Stations of the Cross. Bishop Lake I’d close to Brighton but isolated enough to feel like you’ve traveled far into the woods.

"Winter" camping was very comfortable. Bathroom and handicapped shower rooms open and warm. Office is staffed on the weekend, internet registration available 24/7.

I always enjoy hiking Penosha Trail and the systems it connects with. Trails are well-maintained/marked, and I've never had issues with biker/hiker intersections... people are friendly...
