We took our kid there to see farm animals, and were not disappointed. We saw horses, alpacas, peacock & pea hen, sheep, chickens, ducks, goats, a turkey, a hog, and some cows including the largest cow I've ever seen. No joke, it was probably 9' tall and made two normal-sized cows look tiny. Looking it up before we went, we saw we could buy nuts or whatever to feed the animals. Yet there were signs posted on many of the pens indicating we should not feed them, or that a particular animal is prone to biting.
We were there over the holidays, so maybe that's the off-season. It was quiet in terms of other people. As far as noise, it's adjacent to Mercury Blvd., which is anything but quiet. Hearing traffic throughout the visit was one downside. Also, again perhaps due to the timing of our visit, we found it was about 60% empty. Spending quite some time there thanks to the fairly extensive playground, we noticed the staff moves animals around a bit. Wait and you may see something you wouldn't have earlier. In addition to the animals and playground, there are little flowers, insects, etc. to one side of the grounds with cutouts in them to take pics.
We saw very few others wearing masks. Yes, it's outside, but we would love to get through this pandemic COVID-free if possible!
The place is free and fun for family, so I know...
Read moreIt had been several years since I visited so I can’t remember much about it prior to my visit in March ‘24 but I feel there are less animals now. I don’t remember a park being there but there is a pretty decent size park for the kids to play and parent to converse. I like how it’s still free for parking and entry. We saw a family feeding the goats which was hilarious seeing the interaction between their child and goats.
You’ll spend maybe an hour to 1.5 hours there depending on play time at the park. My kid enjoyed walking around seeing different animals closer than he’s used to at the zoo.
When we were leaving, I thought I got lucky from the aggressive peacock that chased me & my friends when were teens for no reason. Was I mistaken! The audacity of this bird! It was in the parking lot circling my vehicle. Out of all the cars in the lot, it had to be mine. Naturally I freaked out from being traumatized decades ago but I managed to get my kid and myself safely in the car. Took him about 10 minutes to finally wander off. Beautiful bird but they should really keep it in a fence instead of free roaming still.
If you don’t like the smell of a zoo or farm. Don’t come here and complain...
