July 2023, In the Hampton area again for a couple days, of convention time. Staying in a local hotel and within walking distance I returned to this Hooters. Although times are tough with employees, as well as trying to keep prices down my visit this time was better than my last. My server Alana, was quick and attended to my needs. When looking at a slim down version of the menu and knowing that some products are just skyrocketing, thanks Joe Biden and your Administration, she was attentive to my needs I had a pleasant dinner and cold beer.
Been to better Hooters before. Entered after three on Sat afternoon. The shop was busy with about half the tables filled. The hostess was on the phone, and completely ignored us for at least five minutes, so we sat ourselves at a high top in the bar area. Eventually a waitress came to the table and asked if we had been served. I inquired about a particular beer, which was on the website, she stated they did not carry it, we ordered a pitcher of draught ‼️🍺🍻 We waited an additional ten minutes for the beer to arrive, and in the meantime she delivered menu's. Eventually we got our beer and attempted to order a side salad 🥗 only to find out, no Russian or Thousand dressing❗🤔WTF❗We ordered Wing's, and waited, Again ❗ Eventually the wings came, and they were warm, but not 🔥 HOT❗We finished the beer, paid the bill and left. We inquired as to First Responder or Military Discount, Keep in mind Hampton VA, home of the Atlantic Fleet, and were told WE are a franchise store, we don't do that‼️ Clearly you don't get a second chance to make a first...
Read moreI HATE to leave bad reviews. It has to be something extraordinary for me to do so. Before I start, I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 12 years in the past. BASICS BASICS BASICS. They were busy, ok got it. I could expect a wait. Clearly the kitchen was struggling. About an hour wait for basic bar food items. Here’s the problem, the “manager” was too busy looking at college football and saying “Oh wow did you see that” instead of addressing any of the issues. Customers were sent to the bar to place to go orders, and the “bartender” (its Hooters) was too busy talking to one single customer/friend to acknowledge anyone else. At one point I saw 8 waitresses at the hostess stand, and not one addressing a customer waiting to be seated bc the hostess wasn’t there. As a manager you are supposed to address any issue on the fly. If you are understaffed in the kitchen then you should jump in the kitchen. If you are backed up at the bar, start pouring drinks. The problem is, NONE of the staff looked rushed or concerned. They were all just contempt with how the service was going. The manager just living it up and fluffing his hair, watching the game. I would have invited him to sit down and have a beer with me to watch the games too, but it took 25 minutes to get a beer. This is the type of situation where the old me would have walked out and not paid, and nobody would have even noticed. But I paid, tipped my 30%, and left HOPING they get it together, bc this is the only Hooters in the area now and my son loves it. Damn I miss...
Read moreMy husband and I spent the whole day in the car driving down to VA from NY, it was late (9:00) and didn’t have many options. While we didn’t expect a gourmet meal, we did expect a few things. Our waitress was lovely, she took a while to get over to us because she didn’t know we were there, but she apologized and took our drink orders, our app order and dinner order. My husband asked for Heineken Light in a bottle, she didn’t know if they had it and would check, I asked for a seltzer with lemon and lime. My seltzer arrived, she brought the lemon and lime in a napkin, I think the lemons were used and no word on the Heineken (in fact, there was never any word on the Heineken). Then the wings arrive, we ask for plates and utensils, she brings plates. We ask again for utensils, she leaves and comes back empty handed and tells us that there are no utensils, they’re being washed. Our burgers arrive, “utensils?” we ask. Nope, but she did bring knives, at least we were able to cut our burgers but eat with our hands anything that fell out. When we were finished she asked if we wanted dessert “how could we eat it with no forks?” “Oh yeah” she replied, “you can’t.” We asked to speak to the manager, that was a waste of time. Again, we didn’t expect 5 star dining, but a fork would...
