We had a wonderful time here, though I wish we could have seen the spring bloom! It's important to acknowledge that these gardens are restored on the grounds of a former plantation, which may be a sensitive topic for some. However, if you're interested in history and horticulture, this is a truly rewarding experience. You can also get ideas for what grows well in the surrounding area for your own garden. The remaining structure features antiques purportedly owned by the Middleton family, and the docents were incredibly knowledgeable about the family and the plantation's history. My only regret is that we missed the spring bloom. Can't imagine what this place looks like in full bloom. This is a restored garden on an old plantation so if you're sensitive to that I recommend you stay home. But if you're interested in history, gardens a trip out here is a must. The remaining structure is filled with "original" antiques owned by the Middleton family. The docents were amazing, full of knowledge about the family and the operation of the property at the time.
