Governor's Residence — Attraction in Hartford

Hello first off I really recommend subscribing to the governors email list because that way you can really stay in touch with what's going on at the state government level which is how I found out about the opportunity to visit the governors mansion for Christmas time. There was no wait what so ever and I really enjoyed the fact that there was a guitar player playing and singing songs for entertainment along with Santa. This is only open around Christmas time for a short couple of hours during the day but ounce you go inside to the left there was a gingerbread house and several real Christmas trees all beautifully decorated. They gave out candy canes of course and we got to tour the entire first floor of the mansion itself. If you have the time I would definitely recommend it to anyone the state police will tell you exactly where to park across the street ounce...

Once when I was a Mormon Missionary, my companion and I were walking on the street behind this house. We entered through the back gate (it looked like all the other houses in the area). We were going to share the gospel of Christ with everyone we met. Before we knew it, we were surrounded by men with guns drawn. They escorted us out. We left them with a Book of Mormon and invited them to look to the goodness...

Very disappointed this year. No Santa at the door when we arrived

about 1pm No music and no governor. We will go next year because it is a tradition to go on Fri afternoon but hope state will do a better job for its citizens next year.Almost felt as if there was no effort to make it an experience . Get it...
