My visit was in early summer but am just getting around to write the review now. I don't remember the exact prices so I'm using hypothetical #'s. I purchased about 4-5 items and was paying with credit card. When I asked if the price of an item was negotiable I was told yes, as long as I pay for them with cash. When checking out, I explained that I would be paying with a card, except for the 2 discounted items that I'd be paying cash for. I paid cash for the 2 items and when I was given the total for the card, it included the amount I'd already paid for in cash. I questioned the total but the lady insisted the amount was correct. I very nicely explained multiple times that if you do the math, the total you are giving me clearly includes the items I had already paid cash for. The young lady couldn't give me any explanation other than it was the correct total due to the card. I tried to explain again, (tax not included) that x + x + x = $100 yet you are showing me on the register and telling me I owe $123.00. The amount of the 2 discounted items = $23.00. She agreed to all of that but then still insisted I owe $123.00. I started to get a little frustrated and said it is simple math. At this point she decided she would call her mom, the owner. I hear a conversation that goes something like, "I did it as (un-audible) and I did it all right." The lady hangs up and says "see, it's $123. and my mom is coming." By this time we'd spent at least 15 minutes on this already and now I have to wait for her mother to come and explain why a very simple math problem isn't what it seems. I got beyond frustrated and asked if she graduated high school. She said she had and is a college student. I said I feel sorry for whatever profession you're going into. I was wrong in saying that even under the circumstances. The mother shows up while I'm standing outside at this point. She gets out of her vehicle, gets in my face and shows me a copy of a receipt that shows, x+x+x= a total owed as $123. plus the tax. She then points to very tiny writing at the very bottom of the receipt $94.95. and then says I owe her daughter an apology. I said that I would have apologized without her telling me to had I known I was being charged correctly. At first I felt very ashamed and embarrassed. After I left I realized that the entire time I was being asked to pay the wrong amount, the register total showed the wrong amount and the receipt looked like a normal receipt, with the wrong amounts, except for tiny writing which was disconnected from the breakdown and at the very bottom of the receipt? The owner also accused me of swearing at her daughter and says she has it on camera. At no point did I swear at her and her saying she has it on camera does not make it true! Although, in the end I was wrong, the entire situation could and should have been avoided had the teller been educated enough to ask me for the correct amount or at least explain that, for whatever reason, their system is like no other, and in the end, the charged amount, even though it appears to be wrong,...
Read moreI have been in this shop a few times and every trip was fun. I saw a post on social media today sharing that someone gave a low rating and said the shop was "expensive" that isn't true at all!!! It almost broke the owners heart and those kinds of review's are so unnecessary!
Things are purchased, made, repaired and thoughtfully priced accordingly any anyone who thinks otherwise is more than welcome to shop someplace else or just keep their negative commentary to themselves. There's an entire community of people who love this spot and want to see it continue to succeed. For the record, I have no idea who the owner is, or who the employee's are but I do know that its never been a bad experience.
Fall is creeping up on us, grab a friend and a coffee and go shop. Start decorating, holiday shopping, pop in and tell the shop owner and employee's hello. Support them and the vendors! Even if you don't find something that trip, go back and try again. I'll be making some time to head out there myself again soon! Keep it up She Shed, your...
Read moreI can never just walk once around the store!! I usually have to take 2+ laps to make sure I didn't miss anything. All the booths are wonderfully laid out, but don't forget to look up :-)
I always find something unique that calls to me, so I never leave empty handed. And everything is reasonably priced, which is wonderful!!
The store is amazing!! All the staff & vendors are really nice. Plus the owner is always finding a way to involve the Shed into the community,...
