Sparkman Park — Attraction in Hartselle

With a walking/running path, frisbee golf course, outdoor playgrounds, and lighted pavillions, this place has something to do for every family. However, the outdoor playgrounds are in serious need for repairs. My family goes to the plastic one and some issues should be safety hazards. The fence line has kids shimying from one side to the other due to the fenceline not covering the whole perimeter. So, this has the potential for a fall from roughly 6 feet. Also, a plastic see though dome was removed on the playground but the component is still there. So, kids tend to lean over the hole potentially causing a fall hazard of about 4 feet. Adult supervision is a must. So, keep a VERY sharp eye on the kids. The outdoor trashcans around the playground aren't covered. So, expect flys...

I take all 3 of my children almost every weekend to play on the playground that's a fairly decent size swinging the swings that they got separate from a playground and the top it all off to have a crate running through on the side of the playground that my kids absolutely loved seeing the Crawfish in yes and they have crawfish or crawdaddy's whatever you call call them so family-friendly place and I've never ran into any hostility or any crazy people also had one of kids birthday parties there her first one actually and we rented a gazebo and it was only fifty bucks to rent the entire kazeebo out all they ask is you clean up after you get done never nice and the transaction was really good...

The park needs a lot of attention and updating. We play disc golf and while there was talk about making the course more appealing and hoping to bring more people to golf here, the conditions are getting worse. Tee # 4 sign is missing and tee 6 has a deep sinkhole close by ( I stuck sticks in it 2 weeks ago so other players will not sprain an ankle or worse). Played yesterday and sticks pulled out and whole is still there. There are fire ant mounds everywhere on the grounds. The women’s bathroom could use a regular cleaning and remodel.
