Overall this is a great park. It has a very large "accessible" playground named Freedom Playground. Near the playground are bathrooms and a concessions stand and picnic pavilion. There two grass fields and a synthetic field for sports. There is a turf baseball field and a regular softball field. There are two dog parks; one for small dogs and one for large dogs. Haverford residents have free use of the Community Recreation and Environmental Center (CREC). The CREC has an activity room, arts and crafts room, kitchen, multipurpose room, walking track, gymnasium, fitness studio and health and wellness center, environmental classroom and environmental lab. The CREC is available for rental. The park has twelve named trails that are very nice overall but could use a lot more trail markers, some trail maintenance especially to remove some widow makers and repair the storm damage. The blue light trail is impassible if it has rained recently. Be aware that much of the trails run near I 476 and can be very loud. This place is every popular on Saturdays and parking can be hard to find. This park should also develop a paved trail for access for those with physical limitations and install benches along trails other than those around the fire pit out...
Read moreHey all I dropped the aerial video review of the park below @ ZekenCloudz ✈️ Man Freedom Playground has Got it all! Sheesh when I was kid we had a seesaw & 2 outta the 3 swings worked lol. I'd say heads up this parks gonna be busy, busy! If you have the option try to carpool over. The energy on the field is awesome, and man do those fields get put to work! There's soccer, footballl, and lacrosse happening round the clock. The DogPark is amazing! Plenty of Parking, Well kept, the dogs are super friendly, and there's even a water fountain if your pup gets thirsty. I also had a positive experience & encounter with Haverford's Exile Ultimate Frisbee Group. A Really welcoming and positive group that supports all skill levels every...
