We have been to this dog park a handful of times and it's a good outlet for my dog. Our experience has been pretty good, dogs are mostly friendly until today. As soon as my daughter and I got there a Basset was barking, through the fence, at a very small child. The Basset was on the big dog side and the child, with a small dog and parents, on the other side. I thought it was odd that nobody was saying, or doing, anything. Then the Basset started to bark and come toward my daughter. I actually had to find the owner, as nobody was correcting this dog, and asked if the dog did not like kids. The owner said, and I quote, "Yea he's not fond of them". I asked him to call his dog and again I quote "I can call him but he might not come". Odd, but ok. And the dog did come to him.
My daughter because she was cold, went to the car to wait til our dog was done playing. Then another little girl came in with her dog and again the Basset started to bark and follow the little girl. I said, out loud, you have to grab your dog (the Basset). The owner seemed to laugh and slowly tried to get his dog. I found the whole incident disturbing and quite honestly, rude. I like the park and most of the dogs, but some owners are clueless!!! The dog seemed fine with other dogs, just be careful if you have a child, any age under 15. Mine is 10, very tall and he did not like her at all!

I broke them apart as quickly as possible (the owners were nowhere to be found even though I was yelling for help), and although my puppy was a bit shaken, she seemed fine at first. A few minutes later, though, I noticed that she was bleeding and had what looked like a a couple of bites or scrapes, so I took her straight to the vet. It turns out that one or more of those dogs bit her. She was bleeding in three places. Two of which were very minor, but one of which was a bit deeper. When I told one of the owners whose dogs attacked my puppy what happened, she rolled her eyes and said "well, dogs will be dogs." My vet's office informed me that many of their clients bring dogs in to be treated for bites that occurred at this very same dog park. Be careful taking your dog here. We will not...
