I had family out of town and my boys ages 3 and 18mos with me. They admit children given that 5 years and under are free of admission. We'll, let's just say that our $60 (4 adults $15 a pop) were a waste of money. Our tour guide started shushing my boy the moment the tour started and kept getting worse and worse because the tension of having to keep him quiet and the never ending talking just didn't sit well with him...or any kid for that matter! He was excited about things and of course being the 3 year old that he is he wanted to tell us. We try to use an inside voice but being interrupted was unacceptable to the guide. I am a polite person and am aware of others so I don't let my kids run wild, never, but this was beyond stressful for him, myself and my family who kept trying to help me handle the boys. If they're going to admit children then they need to make this a little more interactive. Neverending talk is no fun for anyone. I know it's a museum but it wouldn't hurt to bring a few things that kids can touch ...after all it does cost the adults $15 to be there. It's not like it's free for everyone. So in short, if you'll admit people of all ages them make it appealing...
Read moreOur group took this tour over the weekend and it was really fun! Interesting facts, great displays, truly authentic history. Our tour guide RuthAnn was so friendly and knowledgeable, answered all our questions and gave a great tour! The ONLY reason it's 4 stars is the cashier was beyond rude and inappropriately reactive toward our party and specifically the staff. We had arrived a few minutes late due to google maps issues. After we apologized profusely, the cashier was angry, slamming stamps around, couldn't run the register, card reader OR count correct change. She then berated our tour guide right in front of everyone and made us all very uncomfortable. "I didn't take 10 months off to feel better JUST TO BE STRESSED! I'm calling (?) and going home!" This woman should NOT be in customer service if a few minutes delay is going to ruin her whole day. RuthAnn, however, remained professional and personable and proceeded with our tour. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about this community's history - minus the current...
Read moreTook students here on a field trip. Was a very neat way to learn about Havre's history. The tour guide did a very good job of describing the things that children should not learn about in a way only the adults understood, but kids did not. If going on a field trip, you should call and schedule ahead of time, so they can plan accordingly. Other random tourists might join your group, also. Their tours are at specific times, so if you're planning to visit, just call and ask what times the tours are so you can plan to be there at a good time. Also houses a railroad museum on the main level, which you can explore while you wait for your scheduled...
