Very large beach that seems to not be as well known. It’s rocky and the waves are a little rough but there are plenty of little alcoves and pools to check out little fish, crabs, and urchins. If you pick up a handful of sand near the edge of the water there’s a good chance one of the tiny shells will be a hermit crab!
The parking lot is huge and free and it’s easy to find a spot away from other people if you don’t like being in crowded places. We had a little section all to ourselves for about an hour in the middle of the day. We were even joined by a sea turtle who swam in and hanged out near us for a while.

NOONE OWNS THE BEACHES IN HAWAII. Dont let anyone tell you different. In recent years vehicular traffic has been blocked out of parks and beaches, tho this was not always so. There is still an old Hawaiian law that the beaches are open to everyone, always.
