It's beautiful, but not really a good place to swim lots of sea urchins, but there is a lot of coral and shells so that is a plus and u get see all the pretty fish there.

Watch the sunset and saw the Green flash for the first time in my life took me 62 years. Good view of both volcanoes Mauna kea and Mauna loa from this harbor.

I've been going to kawaihae harbor for over 40 years...its a quaint little harbor that the local fishermen and the local canoe club uses.. Bathroom facilities are ok when they're not vandalized.. Kids can get in the water there...
