Do NOT waste both your money, and more importantly, your time! On a busy day, the line to ride the train exceeded 1 hour just to get on the train. Positive was that once inside the station, the cover gets you shade.
The train ride itself is not entertaining outside of seeing the various growing areas; can be cool in its own right to see quickly. Biggest grievance is that 60% of the train ride repeats itself as an “out-and-back” train ride that rides parallel to the same track upon return; what you see going out, you see coming back in.
The train itself is nice and a good ride.
For what else there is to offer at the Dole Plantation, this is an attraction that you can skip and not feel like you missed out while visiting. Again, the cost is high for a family, but it is really about the time you lose to ride it during busy times. Even during non-peak times, this train ride would likely not be worth...
Read moreExtremely slow service, 2 hour wait under the sun to get on a train. It's not something that makes you feel the aloha, it's definitely a tourist trap and not a good one. The train's staff is extremely slow moving, loading the train, which should be 5 minutes, takes 30 minutes, literally. The staff has turned into the mask police when everyone is outside and under the sun and wind. Everyone, including kids have taken covid tests before entering the state, everyone is trying their best and yet tgod forbid the mask slips under your nose, you'll get chastised and put on the spot. They don't let you take a picture in nature by lowering the mask, yet they ask you to lower the mask for them to take a picture before boarding the train, the hypocrisy. They need to make money, with the mask on, you won't buy the picture, so the mandatory masking goes out the door. It was a bad experience overall. The train is...

It’s “cool” to say you waited and went on it but after waiting an hour and a half (luckily it was a cloudy day with a breeze) for what seemed to be a fast 20 minute train ride, i don’t think it’s worth it. I thought we’d see so much more stuff than we did. You essentially ride up the track for a few minutes, then back down another track that’s parallel to the first one. So you basically see the same thing twice. Our train did stop once in the middle though just because the operator had to yell at some people for not wearing their masks. I thought we were gonna get out and explore 😅 guess not. So IMO, If it’s a hot day... don’t do it. Or you could have one person wait in line while the others explore. Hope you have a better experience...
