Pohaku O Lanaʻi While in Hawaii… we met a family that was from Japan. She told us about these balancing rocks up in the north shore area, and said be sure to visit these because they are magical. There are several people from Japan that have professed that once they put their hands in between the two rocks, miracles happen for them, since we were going to the North Shore, this made me very curious. When I put my hands in between the rocks and closed my eyes, not only could I feel the energy, but I can see in my minds eye volcano with fire coming out, and I could feel the energy.

As stated in a review by Peter T Young May 13, 2015. “It is different in character from the rocks that line the coast, and unlike anything for miles around.”

Hawaiians know it as ‘pohaku lanai,’ and is said by them to have floated ashore ‘from Kahiki,’ (Tahiti.) It is a balancing rock on a somewhat broader base, of limestone formation, with projecting top so as to afford material shelter in its shelving structure. (Thrum).See more by...

This beach is narrow but long. Pretty good parking options both in the lot and on the street. The sand is perfect and the water mostly protected so great conditions the day we were there. The water is pretty shallow as I went out at least 100 yards amd the depth was about 3 feet. The most amazing part of this beach was the multitude of sea turtles. One even came up on the beach to soak up some sun! Reminder though to keep your distance and don't touch...

Park is out of the way and very easy to miss. Plenty of parking during my visit. Rest room was in the camp ground area. I noticed lots of picnic tables but also a very huge tree covered area with lots of shade which would make for a great picnic area. Very close to North Shore Shopping areas. Definitely a good place to eat after you have picked up your take out food. Great sunset views...

Nice place to visit for sunset. Don’t recommend going on holidays, as the camp area is congested. Beware of the homeless and car break ins.
