We saw dozens of see turtles. If we want some shots on sea turtles this is the spot. The waves are quite big. If you go to the right of the beach there's plenty of shade and some spot for snorkeling. The snorkeling is not that good but you get the chance to swim with sea turtles. This is the beach my kids enjoyed the most. We spent the whole afternoon after visiting the Doyle Plantation. Parking is limited but most people don't stay long after they have their shot with a turtle so it's fairly easy to find parking.

Beautiful beach. Plenty of sand to relax on with palm trees nearby for shade. The water can get pretty rough during the winter but we've been in the summer too and it was great for snorkeling. If you're lucky, you might see a turtle! I love beaches with parking lots, makes it so much easier. The bathrooms were clean and the surrounding grassy area was well cared for. Lots of places to eat or shop at before or after as well.

My 💓 broke a little today watching all the tour buses and tourist invade Popoki Beach aka Japanee Beach...so so sad. They have their own entrance which used to be family grounds, big tubs of equipment, and signs in foreign languages ( like Waikiki ). Our little country beaches, local hideaways free from tourist are few and far between. 😢. #inolikegobeachnow#cannotchunkydunk

Great beach, sand is nice, the bathroom is close by, there is good quality showers. I love it when the sand doesn't feel like pebbles and it is not super fine like powder.

The reef is a bit close to shore which might be a deal breaker, but it can be good for snorkeling. There are Tide pools, but they're on super sharp and rocky area. Wear slippers, water shoes, something to protect your feet.

Lots of parking and there is the lifeguards out to watch for people in...

Good to stop by and admire the ocean however, I wouldn't go swimming here. The beach was dirty and busy with a few groups playing music way too loud! Who comes to Hawaii to listen to pop on the beach? I want to hear the waves crashing against the shore!!

It has the waves of the north shore however none of the very blue water found elsewhere of the island.

I drove over hearing that we could see sea turtles on the beach but no luck :/ maybe a different time...
