Arrived around 10:30 am and we were helped by the trail access volunteers in getting one of the few parking spaces in the lot. The hike down to the beach was tricky for me even with hiking poles and boots but we saw people barefoot and wearing flip flops making the journey. The beach is rugged and quite stunning. The trail consists of 4 switchbacks, totaling about 1/2 mile down. Depending on how the weather has been, you are in for a muddy, slippery ride down and a steep incline on the way back up.
