I'll go by here for last minute vegetables that I need or something for a quick dinner. The place is great about stoking super ripe foods that you want instantly, but don't plan to buy for future meals. Because everything is just-ripe or a day from being overly ripe, items like squash, tomatoes, and peppers can go bad quickly no matter how hard you try to save them. Usually I'll get what I need for dinner that night or the next for under $10 a visit; that's usually a couple zucchini, tomato, and lettuce.
I've never gotten anything that was already bad here. If you're super tight on money, they have bags of slightly-too-ripe produce (that's still JUST as good, or even better if you're making something to be baked) for $1 and there's a lot in there.

They carry everything you would expect a produce stand to carry, plus they have bread, some canned goods, juices, etc. Prices are always cheaper than a grocery store ($.99 for a nice head of lettuce vs. Lucky for $1.79). They also carry a large selection of spices and herbs, both fresh and dried. The people who own it are friendly and knowledgeable, and gladly answer questions and make suggestions. Parking is free. Updating my review for 2017. This place has gotten better with its new owner. The place feels cleaner and more organized, and the selection of non-produce items has expanded to include gourmet local cheese, pastas, beans, and dried fruits and such.
