Update since my post about 3-4 years ago: Much better since new ownership took over but there is still room for improvement customer service wise. A lot of the younger cashier's don't greet the customers or even respond when I greet them first, nor say thank you, have a good day/night etc. They'll just start ringing up the items without saying a word or ignore you and engage in conversations with coworkers about what they're doing after work or Friday night etc. Other than that I'm satisfied with the selections since the other person who was the owner left.
The owner Freska is rude and doesn't honor prices when things are labeled incorrectly which they always are or not marked at all. She told me it's my responsibly to read the tags and match up the items. I said no it's your responsibility to make sure your staff put items/price tags in the correct place it I see a price underneath a stack of items I expect to pay that price, it's not up to me to inspect the fine print. She told me yes it was and proceeded to tell me she is the owner and she is not giving me the item for a lower price. I told her I would call corporate and she repeated again she is the owner and rolled her eyes and walked back into her office and shut the door. I had the cashier refund my things. I will never spend another dime in this location. It's only a few blocks from my house but I would rather drive across town to another than to spend my money in this rude...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI returned today the place is a mess It is filled with clutter. From the over filled trash cans outside to the over stacked isle. I was banging into other shoppers . It was hard to menuver the Cart in order to shop and the place wasn't that crowded.
I went there to buy wild caught salmon an COD from US But they didn't have it this time also no W.C. Mahi mahi from Ecuador. I don't buy any of there fish imported from Indonesia due to the widespread practice of the enslavement of the workers. The Indonesian government says it is moving foreign fishermen from an isolated island where slavery in the fishing industry was exposed last week by an Associated Press investigation, out of concern for their safety. In 2015,Ā theĀ Associated PressĀ investigated the supply chainsĀ traveled by slave-caught fish. Their investigation showed that the illegal fish ended up in common American grocery stores like Kroger, Albertsons, Safeway, and Walmart. Illegal fishing itself is thought to generate more than $23 billion each year. I'm a allergic to farm raised š fish the antibiotics and chemicals that they feed the fish goes right to my gut. They didn't have a wide variety of cheese's nor fresh veggies. Mainly packaged veggies if...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLove grocery outlet, always find good stuff and generally a good experience. But shopping here is starting to be a turn off.
Last time I was there I'd left debit card at home. When trying to pay and realized this, I told the check out clerk what happened and asked if she/they would set the groceries aside, I would be back in about 20 minutes. She had a vacant look on her face and didn't respond so I said again I'm sorry I seem to have left my card at home, is it Ok to set this aside and I'll return in about 20 minutes?
She still looked out of it so I said I have to go home and get my card I'll be back and started to leave. Then she comes out of her fog and asks if I'm coming back, I had to keep myself from laughing and said yes, I left my card at home and will be right back. Then she pushes her face in mine with a sneer and demands are you SURE you're coming back? I just told you four times I'll be back. She looks at me (as if I'm the problem) and says Well I have to be sure.
Clearly this one isn't working there for...
