Broken bits of wood have been sloppily dumped in the "well." One of the cannons has collapsed its wooden base and tipped over. The barrel is off its mount. Would have killed anyone under it when it fell. Gate was still locked during open hours. Sad view of a historic African American Church that has been destroyed.

Loved this historical site. Helena has a lot of History in it Confederate Cemetery as well as Fort Curtis. Well marked, plaques. View historical items like cannons, cannonballs still there on site. They really keep this monument clean and well cared for. People are friendly in Helena and enjoyed being there!
