Joe Tucker Park is a public park in the city of Helena. It is located behind the Helena City Hall and Helena Public Library near the intersection of Helena Road and Shelby County Highway 52 (map). Tucker Road loops through the park. The park features the 7.5-acre Joe Tucker Park Lake, created in 1974 by damming Lee Brook. The lake is stocked with fish and encircled by a half-mile-long lighted, paved walking path. Catch-and-release fishing is allowed on Saturdays only. Picnic tables and pavilions are available, as well as two softball fields, three playgrounds, and four tennis courts. Other features include a historic cabin and an open-air chapel. Stop letting your dogs poop on the ball fields!!!!!!

The parks are good- faded from the sun, but still functional. The walking path is great. My biggest complaint is that people will use the ball fields as dog parks and let their dogs poop in the fields, not just the grass but the actual dirt of the field where kids play ball. And they leave it. There has been several times we’ve come up to the fields to play softball and someone has the gates closed- they’re sitting on a chair while their dog runs around the fields.
