If you lived here your whole life and had no idea there was a fun, educational, and FREE museum you're not alone. Aside from that this place is fantastic. There's a fair amount of taxidermy animals, just so those who're unsure of that are aware. But furthermore they have plenty of living ones. A large aquarium, a turtle alongside a few salamanders usually. But the BEST part is the bird ambassadors. Usually free. And you can also ask them for identification help if you need it.
There's also some more interactive exhibits for the children. Plaques are plentiful with information on animals. Learn about least weasels, common loons, townsend bats and more. There's even an...
Read moreOur daughter wanted to go on her birthday. She had been there before, we had not. Although not a huge venue it was EXCELLENT! A fun place! I learned a lot. Really enjoyed all the "stuffed" animals. Also enjoyed the live fish aquariums. Definitely a place to take your kids or grandkids. Just off of the Hiway on the west side of town... would make a great place to stop if on a rode trip and just want to stretch and give the kids something interesting to see and do. If you wanted to go for a walk it also connects to the trail around Spring Meadow Lake, the new 10 Mile Creek park and trails and the trail (Centennial?) back to Carroll College, Centennial Park, Memorial Park, the Great Northern Town Center. Would also be a good destination for a family bike ride from almost...

(Bonus: they happened to be hosting a bird expo and we got to see some incredible ones up close.) I am so impressed with this organization for their caretaking and...
