Walking my dogs I decided to come here this morning and visit the dog park. I used to live in this community a few years back. The park is clean. While I was there I checked out the trees, bushes, and plants, so I could get an idea of what would look good in my backyard. It is a nice walking path with benches and informative signs. There is grass removal going on at this time, turning those areas into desert landscaping, which is unfortunate. The public areas are practically the last areas where the community can enjoy the greener areas. The water shortage is real? The way the developers continue to expand Clark County worries me. Read moreThis is a favorite spot in the Vegas Valley. It's a large park as it is, with a playground, soccer field, baseball diamond, and dog park. The star of the place is the demonstration gardens. I'm a transplant from Florida and had zero knowledge of desert plants. After about 3 years I found this place. I learned more walking one time through the gardens than the prior 3 years! The gardens are very well maintained (as is the whole area). I highly recommend checking it out. Take a leisurely walk around the park on the paved paths. Learn about local plants and ecosystems. Read moreThere is a variety of local native species that have been placed strategically around the area and there are many places to stop and sit around to enjoy looking at the plants. Most of the seating areas are located at convenient locations where you can get a nice view of the surrounding vegetation. There are also a lot of signs that display information regarding sustainable gardening practices and/or identifying the plants while giving information on where they are normally found.
