Spent the weekend here in my Class B motorhome. Pluses: very clean bathrooms and amazing water pressure in the showers. Minuses: 1. this is not a pedestrian friendly place. If you want to walk from the camping area to the beach area, you are walking on a road that often times doesn't even have a shoulder. I had one experience where a female driver never looked up long enough to even see me. 2. Dogs. Now I can't blame the park for this - they have signs all over the place. But dog owners apparently exempt themselves. There was not a single walk that I went on that I was not harassed by unleased, untrained dogs. There were dogs in the no dog area. There was a dog that literally ran back and forth outside my window all evening. They need to have truly enforced dog-free zones for those of us who do not want to be scratched and sniffed during our entire trip or else really enforce the dog rules (they could pay off the national debt with those fines alone). For camping: I think Lower Fisher Loop is the best for RVs as it has the most privacy. For tent camping, I think the first ones you reach (sorry I didn't write the numbers down) are better because they have more trees and privacy. For beaching, I suggest walking down a little bit for more space. There are covered areas to rent during the day that are nice. There are kayaks etc that can be rented. (Sure wish they had a paddle boat in their repertoire, but I may be unique in that regard.) Weather was nice, 10 - 15 degrees cooler than down...
Read moreThe sand pavillion is what we rented for our Wheelchair ADA accessible guest. (Which thankfully, they couldn't make it at the last minute.) It is the only big pavillion that they offer with ADA accessible. WARNING, IF YOU DONT WANT TO GO UP AND DOWN A LONG STEEP DRIVEWAY JUST TO GO TO THE BATHROOM with your ♿️, DONT RENT THIS PAVILLION. Its either a long steep driveway, or a flight of stairs. There is no ADA ramp next to stairs. Go to another park that's more flat and convenient.
The pavillion was hard to find. There are no signs that say "Sand Pavillion " with an arrow. The directions we got, "3rd right" is wrong. We found the place because we saw sand pavillion parking stalls.
There were 2 shower heads outside the bathroom but were "off." An employee said they turned it off last season and didn't turn the water back on this season yet.
The pavillion itself was pressure washed, the concrete and tables. However, We had to dry the tables ourselves before putting our table cloths. This was fine. We had the help. There were 9 tables total. 3 trash cans, which they have rules posted to empty and take to garbage bin. This was weird because other park guests dumped their trash in pavillion trashcans, but we have to unload and take to trash bin?
They really need to dump a truck load of sand. The sand was different, more like dried mud.
I'm sorry, but this was my honest experience and review. Would I come here again, yes. Would I rent the Sand Pavillion again,...
Read moreMy wife recently tried to rent time on the water obstacle course, and the experience was extremely disappointing. She spent over 20 minutes at the counter because the young man helping her was having difficulty processing the transaction. In the middle of this, a woman—who appeared to be intoxicated—cut in front of the line to buy a soda. Rather than asking her to wait, the employee shifted his attention to her, leaving my wife in the middle of her transaction.
When my wife politely pointed out the interruption, both the employee and the woman treated her as if she was the one being rude. The employee became noticeably dismissive and short with her, yet continued interacting with the woman who had cut the line. Ultimately, we decided to ask for a refund after being told—only after the payment had been taken—that wristbands could not be issued unless everyone in our party was present. That’s understandable as a policy, but it absolutely should have been mentioned upfront.
Had the employee not been distracted and had he communicated properly, this whole situation could have been avoided. Instead, my wife was treated with disrespect and disregard. It was disheartening to watch her be brushed aside while someone else who was louder and more disruptive was prioritized. The whole experience left a terrible impression. I can’t help but feel that if my wife looked like the stereotypical Utah girl, she would have been treated differently. Again, truly...
