What was meant to be a fun birthday outing turned into a stressful and scary experience. Our jet ski got stuck at the edge of the lake due to unclear danger zone markings and confusing water levels. When we called, the rescuers on the phone told us to wait for a few minutes. Even after 20 minutes, no one showed up. At first, I thought maybe they were still trying to locate us, but later we were told they were helping others before us. While I understand emergencies happen, we weren’t informed about any queue or waitlist, which made the situation even more stressful and frustrating. When a staff member finally arrived, he tied a rope to tow us but drove way fast. Water started filling our jet ski, rising up to my thighs. I told my boyfriend something felt wrong, and he tried to get the guy to slow down but before anything could be done, our jet ski flipped upside down on us. What made it worse was that the staff member didn’t even notice we had flipped. He kept driving with our overturned jet ski still attached and had to be called multiple times before he realized and came back to help us. It was terrifying. One of my nails was completely ripped off, and I was in a lot of pain. My boyfriend doesn’t know how to swim also he also ended up with muscle pain in his arm and leg. This was supposed to be a fun memory to help ease my boyfriend fear of water but instead, it made things worse for both of us.

Jordanelle is a beautiful man made lake. We have enjoyed the many amenadies over the years. They have a wonderful campground whether camping with tent, trailer, motorhome or staying in a cabin. They are currently building more cabins (2018). There are many ways to enjoy the water such as off the beach, kayak, paddle boarding, water skiing, enjoying the blow up obstacle course on the lake, boating, fishing and so much more. The fishing is good. We have enjoyed trolling, and fly/regular fishing off the beach. If you enjoy cliff jumping, there are two trees you can climb and jump off. They are reachable by boat located in a bay east of the dam. The facilities are kept very clean (including restrooms). All restrooms have flushable toilets except on special events days when the bring in extra restrooms. Their Fire on the Water festival is amazing! They have live music, vendor booths, food, a boat light parade and fireworks. If you want to go, you must arrive early in the day. They have a beautiful building which over looks high above the lake that can be rented for weddings, conferences, and company parties. Other ammenadies they have include a restaurant, convieniant store, and a rental shop for boat and other water toy. As you can tell we really enjoy going to Jordanelle.

The rental place ripped off us $700 for unfair incident! First they gave us an already broken jet ski and then after 15 minutes it stopped in the middle of water and we had to go very slowly to the deck. And they told us there was a stone in the engine or something and charged us $500 for that!! Which was so unfair! Also they charged us $60 for 45 minutes for gas which is so unfair! One annoying thing was that they didn’t give us any receipts for padding boards when we turned them in, and they called us later and asked for paddle boards!! They ruined our day and we had a terrible time in there! Never rent anything from this place!

Website is super out of date and not accurate. At least for Jet Ski information. There isn't an online reservation functionality, it just gives you some hard to understand availability. In addition the the pricing is completely incorrect. I called to book a jet ski for the early bird rate that is clearly posted multiple places on the website and was told that is no longer an option. After that I asked to just do the one hour rental (again posted multiple places on the website) and was then told that they no longer do one hour rental and that my only option is two hours and that it was much more expensive than the current two hour pricing on the website. This was super frustrating because I called for a couple days and couldn't catch anyone on the phone and when I finally was able to speak to someone the new pricing (almost double what is posted on the website) completely ruined my plans on short notice. It is awfully surprising to have a website that doesn't reflect accurate information. I'll update my star review if they fix the website.

Edit: Post response from owner. The response from the owner is off topic. I'm not sure why they justified what they did. My main concern is that the website is out of date and the owner justifies this with hurricane like winds and cold weather this time of year. That doesn't correlate. I can understand seasonal pricing and hours but that distinction isn't made anywhere on the website. That is my main concern. If you have changed hours and prices this needs to be updated on the website in a timely manner or detailed on the website so you can know what to expect at different times of the year. The owner also stated rudely that my comment on incorrect pricing was false. Which is incorrect on their part for a number of reasons. The fact that they still have out of season pricing and options makes the pricing incorrect. Simple as that. In addition, the price I was told for a two hour rental was not what is posted on their website. The girl on the phone told me it was $189 for a two hour rental. Currently (just double checked) the price for a two hour rental is $169. Compared to the early bird rate of $75 that I was expecting (that is still posted on their website??) the $189 is more than double. I also don't understand the justification of weather the day I called and their docks being in bad shape? That has nothing to do with inaccurate pricing and options on their website? It also has nothing to do with my rental because I wasn't trying to book for that day... I'm not stupid... i'm not going on the water when it is 37 degrees? I don't need the noble Jordanelle Rental Services to tell me that. Overall, I am dissapointed that my review was misunderstood by management and that the issues I raised are still confusing others even after it was brought to...

My family and I were traveling from out of town and were recommended to try out this marina for a boat rental. After not much availability we settled on pair of jet skis which we reserved the day before. The check in process was very loose and this should have been a red flag to us as these rentals were coming and going faster than the staff could handle. Upon finally getting down to the dock the staff were unsure which jet skis were ours to use for the 1 hour rental. They pointed to a pair for us to take and hurriedly took photos with an I pad as we were getting on them. At this point we should have stopped and taken our own photo and videos.

Upon returning we were asked to go inside while they checked out the jet skis over and fueled them. After waiting for what seemed like an hour they show us pictures of a small scratch that they want to charge us $200 for. As we start to get frustrated with them they show us a photo of one on the jet skis on shore and tell us that’s where the damage on shore. We were never on shore during the entire ride and followed thier protocols to a T. No time stamps on any of the photos. That’s when we realize this is a very incompetent business or just a part of thier business model to add extra revenue.

I could care less about $200. It’s the principal and I would not recommend this business in how they handled it and how they process renters

If you decide to rent. Be very careful and caution and take your own photos and videos.

We also did not see anyone that appeared to be much older than 21 years old and whole place lacked maturity.

I will say on a positive note the lake is beautiful and worth the visit. Just avoid this business. The are also the only rental establishment on the lake which limits...

Disappointing Experience and Unprofessional Service at The rentals counter. I had a truly frustrating and time-wasting experience at The Surf Shack today while attempting to book an aqua park reservation. What should have been a simple process turned into a 30-minute ordeal due to a complete lack of professionalism and control from the staff. While patiently waiting my turn and in the middle of completing my booking, another customer, who appeared to be intoxicated and was using foul language, rudely interrupted the process. Instead of asking this customer to wait, the attendant became fully engaged in a casual conversation with her, completely neglecting my booking. I was left trying to complete my reservation with unanswered questions and no assistance. When I politely asked the interrupting customer to wait until my transaction was complete, I was met with resistance, and shockingly, the attendant then gave me dirty looks, treating me as if I were the problem for wanting to complete my booking efficiently and without interruption. After finally navigating the booking process with minimal help, I was informed that I couldn't even enter the aqua park without my entire party present – a crucial detail that was undoubtedly missed due to the chaos and distraction at the counter. This entire debacle, which should have taken less than 10 minutes, resulted in significant wasted time and forced me to request a refund. The Surf Shack's staff demonstrated a complete inability to manage their queue, prioritize paying customers, or maintain a professional environment. This level of disorganization and disregard for customer...
