Coins & Stuff — Attraction in High Point

This place does not deserve one star. Do not buy or sell here. I first called the store to ask some questions about selling gold coins. The guy I spoke to was very rude and unpleasant. I went to several other places, which were very hospitable. After doing some research on a particular coin and getting two offers elsewhere, I decided to give them a try, since I thought they would be more knowledgeable about coins. BIG MISTAKE.. This guy was 100 times worse in person. He definitely thinks he's God's gift to mankind and treated me like a complete idiot. He basically laughed in my face when I told him what I had been offered. Told me he wouldn't even come close to what I was asking and as I was speaking to him, he just walked away and went back to looking at pictures on his computer. I was obviously wasting his precious time. The really sad part is that I have a huge collection of gold and silver that I need to sell. We have been buying coins for over 20 years. I will NEVER step foot in that establishment again, and will advise everyone I know to steer clear of this place. I don't care if they are family owned...or if they've been in business for 100 years. They are rude, unfriendly, and have zero respect for their customers. Some people just have no common sense when it comes to treating customers like they are important...like they are the reason you make money in the first place. Overall, a horrible experience and my advice would be to scratch this place and find someone who has some social skills of some type. This "coin expert" definitely needs some serious consultants to help him realize that respect and friendliness go a long way in making loyal customers want to return. I am actually upset with myself for tolerating this treatment and then just walking out the door pretty much stunned at the way I was treated. I wish I had told him off and let him know what a creep he was. But, honestly, I seriously doubt he would care. Bottom line: This place is a waste of time and you'll be treated like a bother for walking through the door. BEWARE and pay attention to my warning. I guarantee you the people that are writing these bad reviews pawned or sold something then didn't pay attention to their loan and it got pulled. Bobby and his father (the owners) are no nonsense type of people but also they will give you the shirt off their back. Ive literally seen them take a couple across the street to food lion and feed then instead if taking their wedding rings ikn pawn. Most people that are soft spoken or timid don't know how to shoot straight and approach them and they go and write a bad review. Let me give you a tip I you shoot straight and communicate they will bend over backwards to help you but they are not mind readers. I will say at times their prices can be a bit higher than other places but from what I've observed and know about business when you deal in the mass volume they do prices are going to be a little higher because of the subsequent overhead. I've had a coin collection in pawn with then for over a year and by all accounts they should or could have pulled it 9 months ago but I fell on hard times and because I communicated with them they actually have my pawn items on hold until I get back to work and can come get them. I have done business with them for almost a decade now and will continue to do so. I know how to communicate with people and am not shy or timid about asking questions or communicating with them. Not a good place to buy a gun. Allow me to explain.

I moved into the High Point area from Raleigh a few months back and I had an excellent FFL business who did my transfers. Given that I moved into the area I thought I would use a local business and try it out. I bought a completed AK receiver and had it shipped to this location (since receivers need to be taken by FFL. I had no choice pretty much..) and it went there or so it said.

UPS marked the package as delivered, I thought okay. I give a call and see if I can come and pick it up. After being placed on hold for 30 some minutes I get told that it was never delivered to the store and I tried to say that it was but well... evidently not. I spoke to someone in UPS and they confirmed that it was delivered there unless the delivery person performed a EXCELLENT sleigh of hand maneuver and got the package back somehow after it was signed for... It should still be there.

I have tried going into the store to talk to the person who does the FFL transfers but he's either 1). gone or 2). there when I can't come in due to the fact I work as a NP at Wake Forest Medical. It's been pretty much a game of phone tag.
