The High Point Museum is located in High Point, NC, the Home Furnishings Capital of the World.
The museum has two parking areas, my gps took me to the lower parking area but the parking area directly in front of the museum would be easier for anyone with mobility issues.
Admission to the museum is free but they take donations or you can make a purchase in the gift shop.
I was greeted when I arrived and told about filming going on at the time. I was given an overview of the museum and then went to explore.
The museum is a large one that is on two levels and has an elevator if you prefer not to use the stairs. The top floor covered the history of High Point with detailed storyboards and artifacts. A school bus could be gotten on and "driven". A room near the back had miniature houses that was neat to look at all the details.
The lower level of the museum was mostly about the furniture. This was my favorite part of the museum to read and see what goes into make the furniture from start to finish. The tools used to create the designs. I was impressed. I could see inside the chair cushion and how the springs were put in.
The last room in the lower level had a history of guns.
Make sure to check out the gift shop for treasures before you leave. I got some items made right there by the welder.
Just an FYI: The outside buildings at the museum are just open on Saturdays. So I will make sure to return...

Absolutely amazing for ages 2-12. From water play to pretend play to a carousel and sand pit, a jungle gym and water room…. Arcade games upstairs and a basketball arcade game and air hockey table to entertain the (10-12 year old boys if they’re too old for the carousel, sand pit and jungle gym.)
Food on site, a bit pricy. Free to park. Little people absolutely love, love, love it!!!
I really love the outdoor component. It’s so easy to enjoy a beautiful day here. Yet I would absolutely plan to return on overly hot, cold or wet days💝 The indoor festivities are just incredible!
Don’t miss the craft room that has a projector that makes your aquatic coloring sea creatures come to LIFE!! Wow!
Also, the grocery shopping and ‘check out’ was a favorite! Or playing vet… they just loved everything!! Lego table, space station, art room…. Just plan a trip! You...
Read moreI am absolutely blown away by the exhibits here! Outstanding craftsmanship that you just don’t see anymore nowadays. It’s so crazy to be able to take a picture that looks like your physically standing in a real room because of how realistic it looks, when it’s actually just a little box of handmade items designed to replicate a setting. You can definitely spend a lot of time in there being fascinated with every step you take and then have the photos to trick friends and family who haven’t visited yet. :) They also have a little gift shop with some really unique items that puts the icing on the cake! It’s a really cool day out with your family or friends and I definitely...
