So, it started with the phone call. A fella named Noah picked up the phone. He was lively, excited about life and KNOWLEDGEABLE! My 2 year old daughter is OBSESSED with 2 things, Cowboys & Dinosaurs.
When we pulled up.. I literally parked in front of a Dinosaur and she freeaakkedd. When we walked in there was a super sweet girl with glasses, I wish I could remember her name!! She was a BLESSING! SHE MADE THE EXPERIENCE! When we first arrived it was just me and my 2 Littles. (1 yo son, 2 yo daughter).
She took the time and energy to invest in expanding our minds. Really teaching us. I told her the 2 things my daughter loves most and she showed me their LOGO!! It's a cowboy on a TRex! It was meant to be! We got to collect REAL fossils.. she even took the time to put them in a zip lock bag and LABEL them for us. So my daughter, when she grows up.. can see!! That type of kindness, and love, can't be bought! Many blessings to you ma'am & your future babies. It has so much cool stuff in there.. and they have a baby safe area for the Littles to play in a tent, water color, just really get into it. AND ITS FREE. Now, I do recommend holding your Littles close to you as you walk around outside of the play area, because if you have an over zealous toddler like myself.. they can get toooo touchy, and we wouldn't want them breaking any of that cool stuff.
This was over all a once in a life time amazing experience!! I adore these people and what they do and the knowledge they are instilling in our future! They love their job, and you cannot buy passion like that!
Thank you so much young Lady for your kindness and generosity with your time and knowledge! I will never forget this experience!
I will always cherish this place so much and I told many people while I was in town about y'all! This was an experience that was just GRADE A, excellent customer service, excellent attraction.. I mean.. yall made Texas for us...
Read moreMixed feelings. For me, the jury is still out on TTT. (1) I unequivocally applaud their goals of furthering education about paleontology at all levels (2) they are a long way from creating a “comprehensive collection of Texas fossils”; the current assemblage on display is somewhat sparse (recognizing limitations of their premises) and disorganized. (3) In this respect, they will always be playing catch up to the likes of the Texas Science & Natural History Museum (Austin), the Witte (San Antonio), the Perot Museum of Nature and Science (Dallas) and Houston Museum of Natural Science etc. (4) I have concerns about furthering the cause of private ownership of geological specimens. I would like to see the geological (and archaeological) equivalent of Britain’s “Treasure Trove” laws. I know it will never happen. (5) I would like to explore the possible conflict of interest between TTT and PaleoTex, a for-profit company founded and owned by the Executive Director of TTT (a 501c3 nonprofit). (6) I look forward to returning to TTT in a couple of years when they have settled in to their...
Read moreImpressively large fossil display; they are trying to earn money for a bigger location where they can put even more out on display. I have seen less impressive displays at large, well funded museums. It is currently free, with a small gift shop. One of the staff, Noah, was extremely helpful and willing to answer any questions (thank you Noah :) ). If you are interested in Texas pre-history, it's a can't miss. I would still highly recommend even if you just think fossils are cool. If you can donate, please do; they deserve the larger building and...
