The parkway is the most beautiful place in North Carolina. With roads cutting through the mountains, exposing the rock faces and plenty of overlooks along the way, you will feel at awe gazing at the sheer size of the mountains and valleys. Read moreSince I just moved to Tennessee and I travel to central WV often, I'm always looking for different routes! I decided to go a ways out of my way and do BRPW from mile post 0.0 to 99.5. That's how the information on most sites will describe what is where. On 0.0 is where the BRPW meets Shenandoah NP. There are many overview pullovers. You can travel S/N or N/S. I advise a stop at the 1st visitor center you see for the best information. It is a 45 mph speed limit but no stop lights on the stretch I did. There are many poi's and trails long the route! The north at this point, offers a gift shop/ranger station which the south does not. But, beautiful picturesque drive either way.
