The reason I gave this a low score is NOT because of the food quality and the selection they have inside. It's because of the people that work there.
Food: they have a great selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. They have really good turkey sticks and a wide variety of different lunch meats. We like getting a fresh turkey because unlike what you getting most grocery stores this is the real thing. Are turkey ham and turkey salami are also very good along with the farmers vegetable cheese. When we do go there we also get the sliced bread that they have. From sourdough to Rye and others it's absolutely delicious. They also have fresh milk you can get bikes changing one of your glass containers and picking up another.
Service: I give this 1/2 to 1 star. Bolton's is a family run business. The customers keep your doors open. When you treat them with an attitude like they are bothering you that is where I have a huge problem. With the exception of one or two very nice employees (one of which who is on the cash register), everyone else is flat-out rude. Some of the girls that work behind the deli counter (I believe to be the daughters) are a large source of the problem. You never get a smile (before masks) and a friendly greeting, it's can I help you? And if you're getting multiple items you get the "Is that it?" after each one. Listen, just because you've grown bigger doesn't mean people will always keep coming. Even if you have a good selection of fresh items, if you are rude and unappreciative of your customers that keep your doors open, they won't come back. Quite a few people that I've talked to have said the same about your store. They love the variety of items, but the customer service is awful. You should appreciate every dollar being spent in your store and not take one person for granted. I could see if this was a one-off, but this has been happening almost every time we go in. I just wonder how many others feel the same way I do. It's funny because it's a family run business, but in there you don't feel anything...
Read moreGreat Farm market! I reserved my fresh turkey on line. They sent an email confirming the reserve and some useful information, mainly that in the mornings it's unbelievable busy. I arrived 10 minutes before opening and the good size parking lot was full already. There was a long line waiting for the opening. I'm telling all this because they are amazingly efficient. They opened on time, and the organization was astonishing, they had a huge paper board with all the reserves and they were delivering the turkeys in less than two minutes. My 18lb turkey is beautiful and very fresh. No giblets, but you can buy them apart. You have the option to buy a lot of others products as well. Pies, fresh milk, herbs, crafts, and the list goes on. The check out at the cashier was as efficient as the turkeys' delivery. It's a great place to check out and shopping if you are around or live...
Read moreBolton's was initially just a place for me to get local milk in glass bottles. They offer so much more than that. All of the turkey products I have purchased have been outstanding.
One of my favorites is the smoked turkey sausages. The last time I was there they were out. Fortunately I ended up trying the turkey kielbasa which was equally as good.
Ever since having the ground turkey from Bolton's, the super market turkey seems like mush.
The store is convenient to pick up fruits and vegetables. Again, you expect me to pay a little more but it is good quality. I would say this is more of a conscience than a step up over grocery store produce.
There are plenty of other local products to...
