Enjoyed a recent visit (August 2023) to Hinton's historic downtown district. Met the nicest, most welcoming people throughout the town! The quilting shop was especially enjoyable, as was an antique store (yes, I have a "new" Pyrex bowl! ha), the train museum and the Market on Courthouse Square (best pizza, ever!). A charming slice of Americana. There is an audio tour of local pieces of African-American history that is interesting, though there are also plaques around town telling local history. Several of the historic buildings have been lovingly restored. A great area for lovers of unique...

We stayed in Hinton but outside of town, we walked the historic district which had some interesting places to look at, and found something I haven't seen in years...a pay phone! Whether it worked or not I don't know but it looked like it did.
