Looking for vegetarian friendly food and came across this place. The southwest burger made.of white bean and chipotle was very tasty, had superbly caramelized onion and was on a light brioche bun. The green salsa (house made it looked like) had a slight kick to it and went very well with guacamole laden burger. The Buddha belly bowl had a good combination of nuts, veggies and couscous with a light citrus vinaigrette which tasted very fresh. The hitchhikers cookie with pepitas, cranberry, chocolate chips and coconut was a little sweet but excellent.
The service was good. Our waitress, Abby, made the experience pleasant - she was there to check on us without being intrusive and was very cheerful. She recommended the burger which certainly was a great recommandation. The owner, Sarah, stopped by to chat and gave us some pointers for veg-friendly places in the area.
The cafe is small, has eclectic tables and lots of art for sale on the walls.
All in all, a place I'd come to over and over again if...
Read moreI come to Hinton often for work and I always make an effort to stop of Lucky Rivers. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff is great. The owner Sarah is very personable and is honestly worth the visit alone. I happened to be in here just the other day and some people from out of state were being ridiculously aggressive about fish in the fish tacos or something it made no sense how aggressive they were being. Sarah agreed to take the meal off of their bill because they were becoming violent shoving menus in the waitress face. They left in a huff and said they would post hundreds of bad reviews. Everyone in the restaurant was just confused why they were so aggressive. They almost seemed like they were possiblity drunk or drugged which is sad because they had children with them. That being said I as a frequent patron wanted to show my support for this amazing restaurant and not let some aggressive people ruin a...
Read moreThis is the highest rated restaurant (4.9) in Hinton, and it shows! We showed up for Sunday brunch after touring the area. All of the servers were lively and cheerful, and they were helping each other out as they worked. Ours was Sarah, who was perfect in every way - friendly, expeditious, and able to help us with some recommendations. I had the breakfast burrito (without the steak, but they added their house sausage) - it was super flavorful, well presented, and very filling! What stole the show, though, was the green salsa that was served on the side - superb! The other meal (at Sarah's recommendation) was the breakfast sandwich (eggs, house pepper jam, goat cheese, local greens, and bacon). This sandwich was creamy, savory, and a little bit of sweet - with the addition of the crispy bacon strips, it was perfect. I highly recommend Lucky Rivers Cafe if you're...
