Sasquatch's Candy Den — Attraction in Hochatown

Let me start off by saying this place is adorable from the moment you see it. It is a child's dream with all the candy! I was super excited to check it out, but I will say I was disappointed that I did not see any prices on anything. Maybe I missed that part. They did have a great selection of candy but I had no idea what it was going to cost till I got to the register. On the door it does say NO CASH which I do not have a problem with. However, you serve yourself and then check out. When using the credit card machine it makes you leave a tip starting with a min. of 15%! I don't think I would have a problem with 5% or 10%, but starting at 15%? You can't check out without leaving a tip. Don't get me wrong I have no problem leaving a tip when I am served, but when I do everything and I am just buying candy why I would need to leave a tip that big when no one does anything. I know Covid changed things and the tipping all changed at that time, but for something like this I do not understand. Just having a hard time putting my head around it. It is a cute place, just guess I have to get used to...

Firstly the store had a nice selection of candies. The cotton candy maker looks like it was awesome! The biggest disappointed was the service. The two ladies working behind the register were loudly watching tiktok videos and laughing hysterically the entire time which was very disruptive and distracting to our shopping experience. One of them never looked up from her phone the entire time we were in there. Some of the videos were mildly inappropriate but thankfully no children were present at that moment. Prices seems a little steep but that's to be expected in a tourist town. I thought it was odd that they did not accept cash as I was planning on using cash until I saw the sign saying no...

Came in last weekend, no one greeted us out of the 4 ladies behind the counter. My wife and another couple so wasn’t packed. Didn’t ask if we needed assistance or to tell us how much per pound on bulk candy. But yet when we went up to the register to spend $52 the card machine asked if we wanted to leave a tip……lol. For what?

Great location, the store is nice inside. Looks clean.

Some of the candy is expired or has an awkward taste.

Recommendation: Find personable employees that want to work there. You’re in a tourist town in the south. All the other places I went to in Broken Bow for food and shopping everyone was extremely nice, greeting upon walking in, asking if we needed...
