I have had my end unit Townhome in the Vineyards Holly Hill for 7 months. The exterior Stucco on the outside wall has 4 vertical cracks in it that run over 8 feet in length. DR Horton "Customer Care" stated this was not "their problem". I was concerned about Hurricane Season and water leakage. Today the Builder and Construction Manager both overruled "Customer Care" and are responding to my concerns regarding the exterior stucco cracking and other interior issues.
The floor tile that has chipped downstairs, the builder has agreed to repair. The windows are very difficult to open and close, a "Customer Care" ticket is being put in for those. All of the weather stripping at the bottom of my front door and into the garage door from house has all broken loose, torn and fallen off. The builder said someone would be by next week to replace that weather stripping.
The exterior paint on my front porch area is already chipping off in places. The builder has had a painter start the painting repair, which he said will be completed next week when the exterior wall crack repair is painted.
If you plan on parking your mid sized SUV in the garage, think again. The garage entrance is too narrow and the inner garage would be nearly impossible to open your car door. The garage was the entire reason I bought this townhome, to park my new Explorer XLT in, now it is covered in construction dirt and dust daily and baking in our 3 digit heat index. (not to mention the barrage of construction garbage and nails everywhere).
I can say that Carmel at the front office was wonderful. That Shane the builder, while under constraints has done the best he can with the workers and supplies that have been allotted to...
Read moreThis is a very difficult review for me to have to post. I would give the Townhomes themselves a B+. I love my home. I don't want to move. It's what is happening inside our community that is horrific, inside "The Vineyards" townhome subdivision that has become a Drug Haven. We have a Drug Dealer who lives on Zinfandel Street and deals out of his townhome, out of his vehicle parked at the corner of Moscato and Zinfandel and as of last night had buyers pulling up in front of other homeowners driveways that are adjacent to this corner of Zinfandel and Moscato, to purchase their drugs. My Security Cams catches it all. I have reported this to the Sheriff's office, Crime Stoppers, the Builder; who notified the front sales office - no one is doing anything about it. If you want to keep your kids safe, your personal property safe, yourself safe - don't buy in here. This is not a safe community after dark. It becomes a Drug Dealer's and Drug Seekers Haven, your property becomes their property. There is more traffic on this Moscato Drive "No Outlet" street than there is on 6th street at night. When someone actually ends the Drug dealer's business in here by arrestings him, confiscating his home, his vehicles and his drugs and putting him and his cohorts in jail, I will take this review down. Until then, don't buy, don't rent in here if the safety of yourself and your family are...
Read moreWhile my experience with DR Horton had some positives, it was overall a mixed bag. The sales representative, Ann Marie, and the construction superintendent Shane, were fantastic. Both were professional, responsive, and made the process enjoyable. Their hard work and dedication truly stood out. I would give them a 5 star
However, the loan process was a complete disaster. The loan department seemed inexperienced, as if it was their first time handling a loan. Communication was terrible, leading to constant confusion and unnecessary delays. The lack of coordination and transparency made the process far more stressful than it needed to be.
I hope DR Horton invests in improving their loan department to match the excellence shown by their sales and construction teams. While we appreciate the final product, the journey to get there was riddled with...
