Blue Dragon Video Games — Local services in Holly Hill

This store went way downhill. Used to be a store for gamers to escape the prices of GameStop but since the new owners took over everything I’ve looked up in the store is way overpriced. I can’t reply to owner so I will post updates and edits. 4/5 items I looked at were overpriced (that’s not 99%) I’m letting cyberpunk slide because it’s only a dollar or two markup. Only one store employee was friendly as well, super cool guy with tattoos. Games $40 markup (forget which specific game but there is a ps2 game in the display case right now that’s only worth $80-$85 and it’s marked up at $122) (also sealed San Andreas for ps2 is only $25 online and marked up to almost $40 at blue dragon) , consoles $50+ markup (jungle green n64) , cords and cables markup over $10(nintendo Wii U console ac adapter..$9-$14 online $24.99 at blue dragon) . Some games are on par with price BUT NONE BEAT OTHER STORES PRICES. I am super sad to see this, this used to be my favorite game store in the country, used to be run by gaming enthusiasts who were happy to help. I even named my gamer tag in relation to blue dragon. I want to support my local business but now I’m forced to order everything online because of the ridiculous markups. Don’t buy anything from here, you are getting fleeced. This one really hit me in the feels. I used to ride my bike there everyday as a kid to trade and get a new game to play. Hello. I’ve been shopping here for years, since I was about 4 years old. I’m almost an adult now, just for an example. Anyways, I love this store more than any other store around, along with Cloak And Dagger next door. But, I’ve been having an issue here lately. Sometimes, I’ll walk in, and see a game for a good price, but I don’t have the money. So, I’ll go back a day or two later with the money, and the price will have changed. This has happened of multiple occasions now. I saw Battlefield 5 for 15$, then went back. And it was 25$. I saw Rage 2 for 24$, then went back, and it was 40$. This is a very amazing store, I don’t think there is a better one anywhere in the world, but i need to leave this review. I can’t let the prices continue to be like this, I care too much about this store. Thanks for reading, and I hope that this issue can be fixed. Back when this place first opened it was awesome. My greatest complaint is the staff. The very sweet owner and the man with the tattoo sleeves are amazing. All the other guys are horrible. I used to come frequently but stopped going because the past five times I come in, I’ve smiled and greeted them happily, they never respond or greet me back, just plain rude. The guys in there seriously look absolutely miserable. I understand it’s not the best job in the world but if you hate it so bad why do you work there?! They have a horrible vibe and always look like they don’t want to be there. I used to love going here years ago. I go to Video Game Galaxy in port orange now whenever I need something. 4x better selection and 1000x better atmosphere. It’s worth the 30 minute drive to not give this store business.
