Read moreI have been coming to the Dog Beach for 4 years, tonight was the first time in 4 yrs that a Park Ranger was at entrance collecting a fee of $5.00 per dog, I never have paid to go on Dog Beach of Hollywood. She said it's been charging for beach use for a while, meanwhile there no signs informing people of cost or discounted rates I was shocked and felt what a rub considering we pay taxes towards our parks and beach improvements and a lot of taxes since moving here 4 yrs ago my taxes have almost double. If you Google Hollywood Dog Beach it navigates you to exactly where the entrance is. You have to pay for parking. It's around $4 / hr then check in with the security for another $5 to $10 depending on if you are a Hollywood resident. I would understand having to pay this fee more if there was someone actually monitoring the dogs behavior on the beach, but there isn't anyone. It's still worth it for us since nothing makes our pup happier (and more tired) than playing fetch...
