Updated July 2022: Upgrade to 4 Stars - Went back to try again. Had a much better experience the second time around. It was pretty busy so unfortunately i was at a table kind of stuck in the back. It also took a while to get drinks but i think that was because how busy it was. Food was much better this time around and service was overall pretty good. As always the atmosphere is nice and the place looked great. Valet seems to be easier to move in and out of with how the new flow of pulling in is. It seems to be better then my last experience and looking to visit again.
Written July 2021: Original Review 3 Stars - Where oh where do we begin?! First i have to say that the atmosphere of Tiki Tiki is great! Have not been since change from Jimbo’s Sandbar but i must say the place looks fantastic! Very cozy atmosphere. Service was absolutely great and the reason for lower stars is not because lack of service, but the food. If anything the service brought it up! People i went with enjoyed their food, including the oysters which were on sale that day. I did not have a great experience though, the margarita i ordered tasted like water and maybe a touch of tequila, ended up not finishing it, there was a small mix up in the beginning with wrong beers however we sorted it out. The bread was actually great however the chicken entree i ordered ($22 bucks i might add) was not the greatest. No flavor, for the amount of money you spend, you think you might get some chicken breast roasted with peppers, onions, pineapple, but nope and instead you get Chicken thighs? Or something, along with peppers, pineapple but no onion… The chicken was very poor quality (maybe undercooked?) and for it being a relatively expensive dish at $22 you expect to get a more quality dish. Flavor wasn’t there. I ended up not finishing it at all. Service was great though and they could tell i did not enjoy it and they comped*? The chicken along with the margarita. The manager even came out and asked me if there was anything they could do. I normally do not like sending anything back since i ordered it but they did comp and I was taken care of. I will go back and try something else. Hopefully next time i will have a...
Read moreI cannot say much other than happy hour food quality & service. I had several happy hour plates bc no one had explained there was a Tuesday deal going on (lobster boil w shrimp and other traditional boil fix-ins). I really would have rather had the lobster boil but now I cannot because I leave town before the next Tuesday comes around.
Anyway, for happy hour the oysters on the half shell were dry (no liquor left in the shell). The sliders (2) were very small and beyond thin; I would definitely not recommend the sliders. I had asked for no blue cheese but they came with blue cheese and had to send them back. The peel n eat shrimp are very tasty although the description might be a bit misleading.
The shrimp is described as beer, garlic, old bay, butter and parsley but the predominant flavor was hot sauce so think doctored up buffalo style and there was no parsley to be found anywhere in or on the dish. Despite the description’s shortcomings these were very tasty, large, and I would probably order them every time I visit. They are so delicious and flavorful that I do not recommend squeezing lemon over them (and I have never before recommended not using lemon on shrimp but it did not enhance the dish when I tried it).
The only beverage I cared for on the happy hour menu was the grapefruit spritz but in my opinion it should be served in a wine glass and not one of their tiki glasses. I think they serve their happy hour drinks in tiki glasses so you will ask if you can keep/buy the glass it comes in and, of course, you can…15 bucks.
The fried oysters may be new to the menu and while I found the portion large and the dish tasty with the accompanying aoil I did have shell fragments in both my oysters on the half shell as well as in my fried oysters.
House salad was significantly underdressed and only the greens in the salad had been dressed at all. I sort of expect a house salad to be completely dressed and not be lacking in flavor which this one was; salad dressing was also laking in flavor.
My server was happy to make the drinks I requested but never actually verbally checked on me throughout my meal. They were somewhat personable, however, and we engaged in small talk to...
Read moreTiki Tiki exceeded our expectations in every aspect, making it a memorable dining experience. Tracey, our server, played a pivotal role in elevating our visit. Her attentive nature, coupled with a delightful and bubbly personality, enhanced our overall enjoyment.
The extensive drink menu, boasting bottomless mimosas, rosé, and bloody Mary's, set the tone for a festive atmosphere. The bloody Mary's were particularly outstanding, standing out as the best I've ever had. The drinks were not only plentiful but expertly crafted, contributing to the lively ambiance.
Moving on to the food, the Eggs Carbonara was a standout dish. Its delicious flavor was complemented by a generous portion size and impeccable presentation. The craft jam accompanying the toast added a delightful twist, showcasing the attention to detail in every aspect of the meal.
Tracey's exceptional service was the highlight of the evening. From consistently checking in on us to engaging in great conversation, she truly went above and beyond. Her efficiency in managing both drinks and food ensured a seamless dining experience.
The restaurant's ambiance further added to the overall appeal. The gorgeous location, adorned with abundant plants and tasteful decor, created a welcoming atmosphere. The solid construction of the building, coupled with a huge bar and spacious seating areas, emphasized the attention to detail in the establishment's design.
One unique feature that stood out was the option to drive a boat up and park, adding a distinctive touch to the venue. Additionally, the availability of a smoke-free section and wheelchair accessibility showcased the restaurant's commitment to inclusivity.
In conclusion, Tiki Tiki offers a perfect blend of delectable cuisine, exceptional service, and a charming atmosphere. Whether you're drawn in by the enticing menu, the delightful drinks, or the inviting decor, this restaurant stands out as a must-visit destination.
