Kapena Falls Trailhead — Attraction in Honolulu

Very easy walking trail with one small rock scramble. The trail head is on the left side of the building that's the end of the lower parking lot, but it is not marked. On the other side of the parking is the rest of the stream, but looks like a person is squatting across the stream near the parking lot so I decided to leave them be, and not check that area out. Beautiful waterfalls and a scenic mountain stream. Definitely a good hike just wish there wasn't so much neglect (trash and graffiti). Pack out your trash, and leave only...

At first we thought it was directly over the hill on the right (looking at the building) but it is actually to the left behind the building. There is a lot of trash and even rotten fruit on the ground from the trees, it made it a little slippery and difficult to breathe briefly without inhaling bugs.. until you got through the fruit.
