Booth District Park is located in the middle of Pauoa Valley. There's an Elementary School and longtime residents who reside in the community.
It features a fenced-in playground which was recently remodeled this past summer. Kids are able to play safely with the cushioned asphalt. Moms and Dads are able to relax on the cement benches under the shady Monkey pod tree.
Next to the playground is a basketball court with two basketball rims. On the other side of the fence is where you're able to set up a volleyball net.
There's an indoor gym with a basketball court, bleachers and a volleyball court. The indoor bathrooms lead to the outdoor swimming pool. The pool offers swim classes, free swim and a lifeguard.
On the mauka side of the park is a huge grassy field which has two baseball fields. Many games have been held there. There's lots of parking that wrap around the field on Kanealii Ave and Lai Rd. You're able to sit under the shade on the available tables. If you prefer to bring your own chairs or blankets, there's more than enough room.
And if you need to use the bathroom it's on Pauoa Rd. The bathrooms are clean and always has toilet paper.
Parking is kind of hard to find, although the "regular parents" park right alongside the chain next to the playground on Namilimili St. If you're lucky there may be 1-2 stalls next to the stop sign.
Many people enjoy themselves at the park daily. There's sports games, birthday parties, summer fun activities, or just people hanging out.
Well, hope you find yourself enjoying your day while at Booth Park. My family and I enjoy ourselves here all the time. Stay safe...
Read moreWhat a gem of a park! It’s so rare to find a park with bathrooms, lots of shade & places to sit, with swings, enough space to run & good parking. This park has it all. The playground is fully fenced in. So you can let the kids play without worrying. The playground has features that appeal to smaller kids as well as older kids. We arrived around 1:30 pm. Lots of kids were at the park, but there was still plenty of space to sit, get shade & room for the kids to play. The swings are regular swings, no bucket swings. There is a zip line feature! Directly beside the playground is a basketball court area that is also fully fenced in. A lot of kids rode their scooters and bikes in that area. There is a field beside the playground with lots of additional shade and space to...
Read moreWe liked this park a lot! When we went there were birthday parties and lots of people using the basketball and tennis areas. Clearly a family centric park! We only used the play structure, but here were my thoughts:
Pros: love that the play structures were mostly shaded. This is so hard to find in HI! Also we went on a Saturday morning, and it still wasn't that crowded until about 11am.
Cons: I gave this 2 stars for a couple reasons... First, street parking only. Second, bathrooms were not fun to use with a toddler who needed to change her pants... Very dirty. But when nature calls for your toddler, YOU ANSWER no...
