At first glance it's a peaceful and beautiful place. I've been here over a hundred times in the course of my lifetime for multiple events, but never for my personal use. The staff and and administrative office were always very nice during those events and someone told me I could come here on my own and so I did. I needed a quick place to eat lunch with my family, but Ke'ehi Lagoon Park (next door) had some sort of event. There were no obvious "reservation" signs around so, I picked a random picnic table. I quickly realized that was my mistake and I Googled if it was free to the public and found that it was free to the public "to rent". Take what you want from this review this is from my personal experience. Again, the staff were not unkind in anyway and the park is beautiful in my opinion, BUT if you want to have a family picnic, (just to be sure) ask a staff...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem in the city. Beautiful park with gorgeous plants and memorials. Open during the daylight hours, no parking fees, great view. You must pay to reserve spots for weddings and photo sessions, but if you just want to enjoy a lovely private park this is a great place to visit. Public picnic tables available for free for week day afternoons. Great for Pokemon Go...

We closed all the doors and windows of the building to take shelter. We took a broom as a souvenir, sorry. Overall nice building however would not recomend as a shelter in the event of a missle strike, there are windows all around...
