This restaurant was recommended to me from one of the Car Rental staff at the airport when I checked in. The service for food was very quick.

The broccoli, beef and fried rice I ordered came out about $16. Medium drink it was about $3.75. The broccoli beef alone for $13.50 when served with the fried rice, Did not seem like a really big portion. The broccoli pieces were generally pretty huge chunks, the amount of beef I got was not that much for the price, some carrots mixed in. The gravy was like an average brown beef gravy which I thought was ok.

The fried rice for $2.50 was an ok portion, with peas and some meat pieces mixed. I added some soy sauce for added flavor and also ok with the broccoli beef gravy.

Caution…The food came out super hot off the skillet, the first broccoli bite I took almost burned my lips…it was really hot off the pan.

Overall: The flavor combo was ok but a little more flavor or seasoning would have made it a stronger dish. The portion size for $20 I thought could have been bigger but I did take some left overs with me. Wait time for food and service was quick. Their sweetened Ice Tea was good. The older gal who the waitress was not very friendly but she was moving quick but not super busy in the dining area, but the take out counter seemed constantly busy. The decor was pretty basic, don’t go here for ambience. It’s basic Asian dining. I would probably come back for lunch at the lunch price reduced rate and try...

This my first time here, what I’ve been craving (Ono for) Is Kau Yuk and some kind of Bitter melon dish. That’s why I’m here! They didn’t disappoint with the Kau yuk it was very savory and the pork belly is so tender and gelatinous. I love that! The waitress recommended a chow fun with pork and bitter melon with a saucy black bean sauce and I definitely had to order half a dozen crispy crunchy Gau Gee. What I enjoyed most is they have hot mustard and shoyu at the table. My belly is happy and satisfied. Plus, I have leftovers for a couple of days and I have plans for the Kau yuk tomorrow with either I’ll make egg foo young or just a couple sunny side eggs? That’s gonna be a good lunch. This restaurant was Ultra busy for dinner. My only issue was trying to find parking because they share parking with a hotel they’re part of. The staff is friendly and they made me comfortable with the yelling out pick orders at the front. The yelling orders in a Chinese accent is so SEXY! I actually had a fun time and I’m a new fan of bitter melon with pork chow fun noodle! I’ll be back there I wanna try the oyster sauce chicken and the...

It's not fancy nor is the ambiance special, but Lagoon Chinese Restaurant is a bargain for your stomach and pocket book. Lagoon boast a large menu featuring Cantonese cruisine and local island favorites like chicken katsu and hamburger steak. Did I say hamburger? You must try Chef Mike's cheeseburger deluxe. It's big, it's tasty and only $3.50. Just try getting a similar burger at that price. Furthermore, Chef Mike will cook to order like a chicken katsu with double gravy over everything,...no need to drive to Rainbows for that specialty. Put simply, Lagoon Chinese Restaurant will leave you full with money left in you wallet and curious to try another item on their menu. By the way, ask for the Chef's menu. The capital pork chops are bone sucking...

We came by today for lunch, it's been a while and nice to see that most of the construction in the area is almost complete. We just had to dodge a couple of big trucks double parked on Waiwai loop. Parking was ready to find, we waited for a server to come but the takeout business was slammed. I just went to the counter and picked up 2 menus. We did eventually have our orders taken and food was delivered to our table fast. I ordered my go to Crispy Gau Gee mein and it was beautiful, do many vegetables and protein. The flavor was good and the portion too. My companion wanted a dinner plate and ordered the D plate, fried rice, chicken, spare ribs, chop suey, wonton chip. That plate was great! I have this place as a regular stop when I'm in the area.

We had dinner here while staying at the Pacific Marina Inn near Honolulu airport. The place was nice, crowded, and busy with dine-in and takeout customers. We were seated quickly and the server was helpful in recommending dishes. We ended up ordering steamed basa fillet fish cooked with ginger and green onion, beef noodles (look fun rice noodles made in the restaurant), and some red bean sesame balls for dessert. Both dishes were very tasty, well seasoned, but not oily or salty. The sesame balls were freshly made and yummy. We were lucky to have run into this hidden gem of a Chinese restaurant right next to an airport hotel.
