The perfect score would be a 3.5. Somethings are excellent here and other things definitely need some working on. I'll start on the great and then write about their opportunities. The great is how clean the entire place is... from when u walk through the door, to the Imax theater and finally the bathrooms. We saw Top Gun in Imax. Imax is such an amazing experience. The size of the screen, the surround sound system and the subwoofers gives u the best viewing experience by far. Also in Imax you get super comfortable leather seats that are electric recline back to the point of you just about are laying down. Now for the opportunities.... I bought our 4 tickets online which there was a $6.50 fee on top of the ticket price. No big deal as in every other theater when u buy tickets online in advance u just scan your phone at a self kiosk and away u go. Well that is not the case here. All the self kiosks that used to be here when it had the previous owners are currently not available. So we had to wait in line for 20 minutes just to have my phone scanned to have the tickets printed out. All this from one teen behind the counter to handle the line. Why would pay a fee to buy your tickets in advance just to end up in the same line as everyone else that hasn't bought tickets yet?? Finally, once u get your tickets u would usually head over to the entrance of where all the screens are and show your tickets and someone would tell u where your screen is. Well.... not a single person here to do this. So for one thing that means u have to find your screen and secondly since there is no one there, what's stopping anyone from just walking through the door, skip paying and just see a movie for free?? There's no one there to check tickets. I would of love to of given them a 5 because they got the harder things down being how clean the entire theater was. Having someone there to check your tickets and having a self kiosk to scan your online tickets should be easy to do. Ill go back again as I believe everybody deserves a second chance and maybe the no kiosk and person not working was just a bad day and hopefully they're working on having a self serve kiosk. If not they are gonna make alot of customers angry who buy tickets in advance. When we on line waiting for our tickets to be scanned their were multiple people complaining out loud to why their was no self scan kiosk and upset about being charged extra for the online tickets. Hopefully those few things will improve. If so it could be an amazing...
ย ย ย Read moreListen, I have been to horrible movie theaters but this place by far takes the cake. Here's a list of my qualms in no particular order:
There's period blood stains on the women's bathroom floor (in more than one bathroom and more than one stall) that have been there the last like, three times I've gone to this theater.
It's managed by a bunch of high schoolers that don't actually want to be there to work, and instead do things like drinking the butter from the tub near the popcorn machine in front of customers on a dare. Then they proceed to spit it out and talk about how disgusting it is that it hasn't been changed in weeks.
I'm pretty sure the theaters themselves aren't actually cleaned between movies because holy heck are they filthy; bags of popcorn and soda cups left behind... Popcorn in the seats and all over the floor. Suspiciously sticky floors, too...
They've had the same "Please be patient with our looks, we're renovating" sign up for months but no actual renovations have been made so I'm certain it's been put up as scapegoat to allow the staff to do whatever they want, whenever they want.
Several times during late showings there hasn't been a single staff member in sight. Not even at the counter. I've seen people steal candy and no one does anything to stop them (because they aren't there).
Speaking of the bathrooms, they are vile. Never cleaned. Toilet paper everywhere, dirty sinks, rarely soap in the soap dispensers.... I could go on.
It's a shame new management isn't doing anything to correct any of this. Honestly, I miss when it was Hooksett Cinemagic. At least they kept the place spotless. At this point my partner and I just make the extra 15 minute drive to Salem--they have a significantly better theater (Cinemark) with seats that aren't broken, clean bathrooms and food that won't give you food poisoning.
Not a clue how Apple Cinemas Hooksett has over 4 stars.
For families out there: this place is NOT family friendly. Some of the stuff I've heard coming out of the staff's mouths is atrocious. And that's coming from a millennial with virtually no filter.
I'll add more pictures the next time I go there.
Thanks...
ย ย ย Read moreThe reason why you go to a movie is to enjoy the movie on a big screen that is supposed to be clear and vibrant and give you a better experience than at home.... That is not what you get here... What you get here is a picture that is awful... The The blacks are way too black and you can't even see the people. The focus is way off very blurry. The color is dull and unexciting. In the contrast is way off. When I told him this they said that was just during the previews that it would get better... First of all I like the previews. I go there early just to see the previews as that's part of the movie. So why shouldn't they come in just as good as the movie. I'm paying for them. So 10 minutes into the movie and it's still no good, I go and complain again and they just tell me that that's the way it was sent to them that they can't do anything about it. I asked for a refund which they did give. Only reason why I gave it one star.... Why do companies want to take your money and not give you what you pay for anymore. I don't care if it's movie theaters restaurants convenience stores anything. You do not get what you pay for anymore and people just don't seem to care. And the rest of us just seem to throw our hands up in the air, bend over, and take it. That's just the way it is there's nothing we can do about it.... Yes there is... Don't give them the money anymore... What is happening to America and the people in it.
Update. Gave it another shot and went to go see Sinners. Same thing. You would swear you were watching an old TV set in 480p. It was blurry... You could not see the people when it was dark out... You cannot see the features of the people's faces very well... I will not go see a movie at a theater again..... It makes more sense to just pay less money and watch it in better resolution on your TV set..... Plus when you fall asleep nobody wakes you up if you're...
