I'm a NH Native. I've seen the "rest areas" on I-93 north & south go through many changes over my 48 years. The newest upgrades, which was actually a complete rebuild, is a major change (even though it's already been a number of years since this most recent iteration of the Hooksett Service Areas, I've never made any reviews of it). Of course, as is true all over the country, this is an "easy off, easy on" Service Center that's accessible directly from the highway. There's several different options for food & beverages, to include a Diner style restaurant, a walk-through counter service spin-off of the renown Common Man Restaurant (widely known in NH) with lots of hot options, a coffee shop with many wonderful options, a convenience store; of course there are restrooms; and a huge attraction for a lot of travelers and visitors ~ the NH State Liquor Store. There's lots of parking outside, there's a dog walking area (which my dog & I use every time we stop here), and lastly, a large gas station operated by Irving Oil. All I can say is that it's very convenient, but you'll pay for that convenience! From gas prices to food, there's most definitely a surcharge, whether it's stated or implied, for these...

Here's a secret go all the way down to where the gourmet coffee is. If you're looking for an egg sandwich to go they most always up until about 11: 00-12noon you can find egg &cheese, egg and cheese & bacon, egg&cheese with sausage on English muffin in a hot box just before you go into the coffee shop area. they're the best I've had in very long time. great hand food on your way out the door and it's quicker than standing in line two service areas back.
No I also want to say that the rest area where we go to the bathroom is usually always very clean they keep a really good thing there.
Also the state liquor store is there I've never been disappointed yet found everything I've ever looked for in there except for Chateau Monet. All of the prices are the same back home just no tax. We still up here every time we go to Vermont and on the way back on the other side.
Or talk to my wife and we both decide to stick our necks out and say this is a place you need to stop at.
Happy travels everybody see you around the...
Read moreIt's not entirely the same as the Northbound Welcome Center. I don't remember seeing a local craft goods store in the Southbound Welcome Center. The businesses that are in the Northbound are also in the Southbound, NH Liquor 🥃🍸 Store 🏪, Common Man restaurant and Common Joe coffee ☕, General Store and Irving. An information ℹ️ desk with a staff member is at the entrance. It looks like they are working on a display at the entrance. The Highway Diner looks like it is getting ready to reopen. The men's bathroom was in decent shape. Signs of heavy usage. An advertisement for food was on the back of the stall door 🚪. That is probably not 🚫 the best place for such an advertisement while you are doing your "business". The Welcome Center was in decent shape for all the foot traffic 🚦 it experiences. Indoor dining...
