Lots of fun but two dangers I experienced during our visit. First, the material used on the ground in the playground area is dangerously hot. Kids running back and forth between the playground and splash pad don’t take the time to put their shoes back on. I burned the bottom of my feet trying to catch my grandson before he went running back towards the playground without shoes.
Second, there was a little girl (approx. 4) who could not find her grandmother. She was hysterical, screaming and running towards the parking lot, also with no shoes on the hot surface. Another lady and I stopped her from running into the playground parking lot and helped her locate her grandmother.
If we had not stopped her she would have run straight into the parking lot.
I recommend replacing the surface in the playground area that does not retain such extreme heat and place some type of obstacle at the entrance to keep small children from having easy access to the...
Read moreThis park is beautiful and I would really like to give it 5 stars because you can see how much time and effort was put into giving ALL children a fun and interactive place to play. After talking with several Hoover moms with toddlers we all shared a common concern. The park is directly open to the parking lot and because of the huge playhouse if you have kids on the splash pad and on the playground you don’t have a clear line of site to make sure they aren’t running into traffic. It makes it pretty hard to take more than one child to the park alone. I wish it had a fence across the front for safety. Also, the splash pad is amazing and colorful but being closed on Monday seems like a weird time because most MDO programs are Tuesday-Thursday (that’s just a personal opinion because I understand it needs to be shocked just wish it was...
Read moreThis just made me love the city of hoover even more!!! The splash pad was a huge blessing to all parents looking for a place to cool their kids off on a budget! The splash pad is free and inclusive for all ages and all children with disabilities. The splash pad alone earned a 5 star rating from me then you add the park and it's just elevated it to 10 stars if I was allowed to rate it 10 stars. The whole playground area is squishy ground which makes it so much safer. It also has many interactive games with sounds. Our favorite part of the play ground though is the play house. My child has spent many hours in the play house. Between the splash pad and play ground is a large musical area which has all sorts of musicial instruments for the kids to play. There are picnic tables so packing a...
