The people who work here are super sweet. I watched them interact with folks of all backgrounds and they were equally cordial to all. They were giving out samples of their cookies for their grand opening and came by with- not one, but- two samples while I was sitting outside.
Let me preface this with the fact that I didn't, personally, have to pay but still got to try the product. I tried both the Snooperdoodle (snickerdoodle) and the red velvet flavored ones. After the first, I even tried to nicely let the 2nd lady know I didn't want to hoard their stash and told her to let others enjoy another sample, but she insisted.
Truth be told, there just wasn't anything all that great about them. Aside from the cute names, there was nothing that made them stand out and I didn't want to waste my daily caloric intake on a 2nd sample.
On top of that, I asked how much a woman had paid for 2 dozen (on the day of their grand opening when I'm sure they had specials going), and the lady said she paid nearly $50.
I think they're out of CA, if I'm not mistaken. People making 3x our income in Bham, on average, in CA may be able to afford those prices, but here in Bham, that's highway robbery. Like I said, the employees are absolutely the nicest, but with the lack luster flavor of the cookies and exorbitant prices, I just don't see them competing with Cookie Fix and other similar specialty...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSpeaking of āplugsāā¦. Hi. My name is RenĆ©e and I am addicted to sugar. This is what had me seeking out a cookie place online. This location is not far from my place of employment, this was the winner winner cookie dinner! I ordered on line and set the time for pick up after work.
Itās located in the Edge establishment. Neat place! There is just a window to the walk up to. The staff that helped me was really kind. She had my cookies ready!
If you will be placing an order for cookies, just know they they already build ten minutes into it, so you wonāt have to. I put four oāclock because I knew itād be about 4:10 before I arrived: However, they had the time as 3:50. Either way, they were still warm!
I tried the purple haze one first. Nice, thin, crunchy outer layer and soft and warm on the inside. Delightful!
I will say, these cookies are VERY greasy. (See the inside of the box and greasy smoothie king napkins⦠see⦠I DO eat healthy sometimes too. š š) I am not complaining because I love all the butter, grease, lard⦠okay; you get the picture. š BUT⦠for someone who may not want something like so greasy, these may not be for you. The cookie I ate on my drive home had grease that soaked through THREE folded napkins!
The flavor is amazing, however!
Sugar fast coming...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got the chance to check out this place a few weeks ago. By now my readers know I love a good cookie but I hate Crumbl Cookies. If you don't know why go check out my review on that.
I was excited to try Cookie Plug and my experience was pretty cool. I ordered 7 cookies of different varieties. If I were to sit and go through all of them we would be here all day.
I'll just simply give my all around opinion on them. These cookies were way better than Crumbl by a mile. I have to admit some of them were a bit too sweet for me but I really enjoyed the crunchy outside with the soft inside.
The cookies are huge so you get what you pay for. They are a bit pricey! But I'd say worth it for sure. It's like you are buying hockey pucks lol. You should definitely only be eating 1 of these every so often but I would recommend these for sure.
Oh and they can in a really cool decorative box which I found dope and kept the box for awhile lol. I also love how all the cookies have weed stran names. I don't personally smoke myself but I got a good kick out of it. If you are ever in Homewood go to The Edge and check...
